Duties Description The Psychiatrist 2:• Train and supervise residents in safe and appropriate administration of psychiatric care• Provide primary psychiatric care to patients• Respond to urgent or emergency clinical issues • Collaborate with other health care professionals to achieve treatment goals and ensure continuity and quality of care• Assess and refer individuals for admission, transfer, discharge, and further treatment• Review and maintain medical records and documentation consistent with facility, agency, State, and federal guidelines• Serve as members of a multidisciplinary treatment team
Minimum Qualifications Candidates from outside or within State Service can be considered for hire under the Hiring for Emergency Limited Placement – Statewide (HELPS) program if they have a license and current registration to practice medicine in New York State AND certification in general psychiatry by the ABPN. ORCandidates from within State Service can be considered for a competitive class appointment if they have one year of permanent competitive or 55-b/55-c service in a title eligible for transfer under Section 70.1 of the Civil Service Law.

This position is eligible for a Mid-Hudson adjustment of $2,000.Additional Comments: NOTE: 1.
