Description: Job Summary:
Under direct supervision, schedules initial interview appointments for patients, types correspondence & reports; answers telephones & gives information & performs related clerical duties as directed.Essential Responsibilities:

- Patient/Member Care: Call patients from waiting area & place in exam rooms
- Key DKAs into automated system
- Arrange for patient admission, transfer or discharge
- Arrange for transportation for non-ambulatory patients
- Complete & forward chart request forms
- Complete patient processing forms such as admission/discharge documents, chart requests, surgery request forms & obtain patient authorization signatures
- Fill out laboratory, x-ray requisitions & specialized test forms
- List referrals from physicians
- Notify appropriate personnel of abnormal lab test results
- Verify patient/member eligibility
- Maintain physician schedules
- Notify patients of appointment/scheduling changes by phone or mail
- Prepare physician schedules
- Answer member inquiries
- Explain hospital regulations & policies
- Information & Records: Request charts
- Answer & route telephone calls
- Screen patient calls & take messages for providers
- Materials & Supplies: Clear paper jams & performs routine maintenance
- Operate copier equipment
- Other Activities & Responsibilities: Assume other activities & responsibilities from time to time as directed Basic Qualifications:

• HS diploma/GED
License, Certification, Registration

Preferred Qualifications:
• PowerPoint skills preferred
• Good people skills preferred
• Ability to operate office machinery preferred
• One (1) to two (2) years clerical experience preferred
Notes:
May be required to travel to additional locations within the WLA service area.

• Typing score must be current within one (1) year
