**Job Summary:**
The Division of General Pediatrics in the Department of Pediatrics at the University of Utah School of Medicine is recruiting for a Physician Assistant. This full-time physician assistant will join a growing clinical team of general pediatricians. Responsibilities include pediatric primary care ambulatory services focused mainly at our Sugar House Health Center and University Pediatric Clinic locations. Additional services at other locations may be required, depending on clinical need. The Physician Assistant will work collaboratively with the entire care team to deliver excellent primary care.

**Responsibilities**
**Responsibilities:**
+ The Physician Assistant will provide pediatric primary care ambulatory services at our Sugar House Health Center and University Pediatric Clinic, in collaboration with a team of physicians, medical assistants, and care managers.
+ The Physician Assistant may also provide primary care ambulatory services for children at our South Main Clinic and Developmental Assessment Clinic, as needed, in collaboration with a team of physicians, other advanced practice clinicians, medical assistants, and care managers.
+ Conduct patient evaluations, including obtaining histories, performing physical examinations, making diagnoses, creating and managing treatment plans and documenting clinical encounters.
+ Participation in clinic(s) and division quality improvement initiatives.

Nearly Continuously: Office environment.
Often: Infectious disease, oils ( _there is air or skin exposure to oils or other cutting fluids_ ), hazards ( _includes a variety of physical conditions, such as proximity to moving mechanical parts, moving vehicles, electrical current, working on scaffolding and high places, or exposure to chemicals_ ).

+ This position involves intensive work that may exert up to 100 pounds and may consistently require lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling or otherwise moving objects, such as medical equipment, or patients while providing medical care. Workers in this position may be exposed to infectious diseases and may be required to function around prisoners and behavioral health patients.
The staff member must be able to demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients served on his or her assigned unit. The individual must demonstrate knowledge of the principles of life span growth and development and the ability to assess data regarding the patient’s status and provide care as described in the department’s policies and procedures manual.
**Minimum Qualifications**
Required:
+ Current licensure to practice as a Physician’s Assistant from the State of Utah.
+ Current RQI Healthcare Provider eCredential through the University of Utah Health RQI system. The eCredential is to be obtained within 30 days of hire.
Preferred:
+ Certification in ACLS / BLS / NRP / ATLS may be required by your department or by privileging criteria.
