Come and join this dedicated team as our PS Officer Operations. This is a team supervisory role and will be responsible for supervising and developing the team of Patrolpersons including Senior Patrolpersons, within an Anglo American Platinum Operation to ensure that they perform their duties and that employees and assets are protected within the law.

Job Description

Investigation support and emergency protection duties will be part of the activities of this role Personal risk is a factor in the role due to Bullion / Cash transport duties, (if applicable), criminal investigations, armed response. VIP escorts and Counter Industrial Action situations.

Effective provision of protection services for Operation:

Investigate crime and the transgression of standards and proceduresPatrol and inspect all company property within delegated area of responsibilityEnsure that all CIA procedures are understood and drills attendedContinuously liaise with the Supervisor on security activitiesEnsure that safety and legal standards are adhered to in performing protection dutiesEnsure that operating standards and procedures are up to date and understood by the teamMonitor and advise on the settings of monitoring equipment to optimize performanceMonitor the process regularly to ensure conformance Good employee Public Relations understanding of security standardsAdministers security codes used in the facilityAssists in security screening of employees and recruitsAssist during emergencies and injuries to employeesControl issuing and receiving of all security equipment to teamIssue, receive and register all equipment in the department including firearms and specialist security equipmentEnsure that materials, resources and equipment are available and in working order for the teams'. requirements before shiftsConducts inventory and stock checks at different security points on a monthly basisDrive security vehicles effectively and safelyEnsure that the protection initiatives facilitates the needs of the Operation.Communicate problems to SupervisorCompile accurate security reports including incident and investigation reportsAllocate required job instructions to employeesMaintain applicable Safety, Regulations, Legislation, Codes of practice and standards appropriate to systemsComplete applicable safety, injury, hazard, risk and incident reports for areaConduct and/or participate in required meetingsEnsure that accurate labour records including overtime worked are maintained for the team where applicableSupport the protection of assets in high risk situations such as during Industrial action and emergenciesPrepare ad-hoc reports for management or other information customersComplete regular audits and observations required in the UnitEnsure all reports are submitted to relevant superiorsEnsure that system administration requirements are complied withEnsure that investigation information is accurate and secureEnsures that all tasks and duties and subordinate tasks and duties are done, as prescribed and in accordance with standard procedures and in a confidential mannerAct as a witness when called upon in criminal and disciplinary casesEffective liaison with Protection Services specialists and SAPDocument and report all disciplinary actions takenRegularly check reports for any irregularities and disturbances and report on that

Experience

Minimum 4 years experience in Security or equivalent environment 2 years experience in supervisory position
