Protection Services Manager Specialised

Company Description

Come and join this dedicated team as a  Protection Services Manager Specialized – Surveillance which is a specialized position to manage surveillance activities within the Anglo American Platinum. The role reports to the Head of Protection Services and is expected to apply best practice surveillance techniques in order to monitor high-risk situations, identify suspects for apprehend and minimize breaches of security. The role is responsible for a surveillance team and therefore must effectively manage these employees within the department.

The time frame of work is up 5 years, but some plans will be on a longer timeframe.

It should be recognized that this role could lead to personal risk in its activities

Job Description

Job responsibilities include (but are not limited to):

Manage, plan and coordinated work for the surveillance team through effective liaison with the other Protection Services Managers.Scheduling work for the surveillance team.Continuously liaise with the Head of Protection Services to determine priority is and provide feedback.Determine and manage projects to address Client needsProvide progress reports on surveillance activities and projects to clientsMonitor security indicators and trends in the organization to identify surveillance needsEnsure that resources are allocated effectively to support surveillance activitiesImplement contingency plans to ensure that the surveillance teams are protected from risk even in adverse conditions.Identify best practices applicable to surveillance through benchmarking other organizationsIdentifying situations requiring expert external advisors or other divisions of Protection Services.Verify gathered information for its reliabilityAdvise management on effective surveillance approaches and technologies to applicable to security risk management.Manage large surveillance projects involving other Security agencies.Ensure surveillance is conducted in line with set procedures and best practices applicable to the situation.Ensure the effective application of surveillance technologiesDevelop effective relationship with internal and external service suppliersEnsure effective communication systems to support investigationsEffective two way open communication with employeesEnsure that employees work in a safe and productive environment and set targets for improvementsSupport and participate in the training and development requirements of employees especially in terms of new systems and work practicesEnsure that employees have clear work expectations and plansInterview potential new recruitsHold disciplinary and grievance enquiriesIdentify potential conflict situations and minimize the implicationsControl discipline and ensure fair decisions regarding Employee RelationsFairly manage cultural diversityIdentify ideas to increase motivationEnsure that work is fairly allocatedEnsure competency of employees for the work requiredMentor Surveillance personnel within the team towards personal growth

QualificationsNational Diploma in Security Management or EquivalentB Tech in Security Management or equivalent NQF level 7 (Degree) qualification will be advantageousRegistered with the PSIRA on grade AValid driver’s licence code BCCTV Advanced Surveillance Skills and body language Course

Experience:

Minimum 8 years’ experience in Security or equivalent environment with exposure in Investigation/ Crime Information analysis / Information gathering/ and or Surveillance 5 years’ experience in security management
