Here's how a Proposal Specialist for the Ottawa office contributes to our team:
Responsibilities Translates a proposal “vision” into a compelling proposal layout. Creates compelling graphics and visual communications, involving strategic image selection and/or acquisition. Collaborates to complete layout and production of proposal material with a professional and brand compliant style. Evaluates narratives for relevance, comprehension and applicability. Able to identify new narrative requirements and the appropriate stakeholder to produce them. Creates new proposal narratives as required. Accurately proofs, edits, and rewords context to deliver a high-quality, compliant, error-free submission on time. Ensures the content is written in a singular voice with messaging continuity throughout the document. May lead the proposal planning process, including review of client requirements, development of proposal responsibility matrix and content outline and creation of timeline/assignments. Conducts client background research to identify questions, concerns, and potential risks and advises strategic visioning and proposal planning stage. Influences and responds to the proposal stakeholder expectations and coordinates their deliverables. Identifies interview requirements and coordinates the presentation resources and collaborates with the proposal team in preparation of presentations and interviews. May schedule and coordinate interview prep workshops as necessary. Follows up with bid lead regarding the debrief process following submission of the proposal. Participates and seeks involvement in outside professional organizations that support the proposal specialist position. Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent required. Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, journalism, or equivalent preferred. Association of Proposal Management Professionals (APMP) foundation certification, Certified Professional Services Marketer (CPSM) certification or equivalent is preferred. 5 years’ experience as a proposal coordinator or in a related role (communications, marketing, visual communications). Bilingual in English and French, both oral and written, preferred. Eligible to obtain a Federal Government security clearance. Advanced project management, organizational, and time management skills to effectively establishing the priorities and scheduling of work tasks Advanced attention to detail, good judgement, and able to problem-solve. Strong verbal, written, and visual communication skills. Ability to develop grammatically sound, customized, technical and written content. Strong knowledge of proposal fundamentals and standard methodologies. Advanced interpersonal skills with an ability to collaborate with a diverse group sensitively, thoughtfully, and respectfully. Ability to develop, influence, and maintain relationships with key stakeholders and decision makers.
