Description
Aston Carter is looking for someone with repair trade experience but is looking to transition to an office role. As a Proposal Specialist, you will be responsible for validating, documenting, and approving proposed costs within the parameters of a rigorous proposal process. You will assess proposals using terms and conditions, coverage limits, pricing guides, and industry knowledge. You may negotiate to improve costs based on fair market value. Familiarity with negotiation techniques, network provider price agreements, repair methods, and industry rates is essential.
ResponsibilitiesAuthorize costs to repair or replace systems or appliances covered by active enrollment.Accurately document conversations, agreements, and actions taken with providers regarding job costs and related tasks.Review and approve job costs for out-of-network providers and jobs with special circumstances not identified or pre-negotiated on rate sheets.Ensure and verify accuracy of claim creation, coding, and documentation from creation to completion.Negotiate pricing with providers when needed.Promptly handle correspondence from providers requesting approvals for additional charges on pending service orders.Coordinate appropriate follow-up with customers or providers to ensure issues are resolved satisfactorily.Coordinate appropriate follow-up with customers of non-covered claims and provide effective documentation explaining the reason why.Offer technical knowledge and expertise to other colleagues.Stay up to date with local codes and regulations along with labor and material costs.Promptly respond to actions generated by other team members.Essential SkillsExperience in repair trades (HVAC, appliance, plumbing, etc.).Customer service experience.2 years of estimating or job costing experience.Proficiency in claims processing, invoicing, and invoice entry.Strong data entry and computer skills.Proficiency with Microsoft Office.Excellent written and verbal communication skills.Additional Skills & QualificationsDemonstrated critical thinking skills to understand, analyze, evaluate, and negotiate in complex situations.Knowledge of home systems repair methods.Detail-oriented with strong documentation skills.Ability to demonstrate a sense of urgency as appropriate.Great organizational, time management, and independent problem-solving skills.Self-driven with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.Ability to anticipate and embrace change.Collaborative team player with a strong work ethic and adaptability.Service-oriented.Work Environment
The work environment includes a modern office in Naperville, featuring a gym, basketball court, coffee shop, and convenience store. The office has a pit-style layout with great energy on the floor and a nice kitchen area. The role operates Monday to Friday, with an 8-hour shift scheduled between 7 AM and 7 PM. You may be required to work overtime during peak demand periods.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $23.00 - $37.00/hr.
