About the Opportunity

Jacobs Clean Energy SA (Pty) Ltd, in Cape Town, who predominately work in the Nuclear (Energy) Industry, are looking for a Mechanical Construction Project Manager experienced in Mechanical Construction, with a passion to lead and develop our project teams to achieve successful delivery of our portfolio of on-site, Mechanical and technical, EPC construction projects.

Ideally you will have fixed price EPC project management experience, be suitably qualified (engineering / technical / project management qualifications), with a field of experience to draw upon. Key skills and responsibilities include;

Project and construction site management throughout the project lifecycle Strong leadership and ability to structure and manage the project resources. Lead the team and hold everyone in the project team accountable and responsible Project scope control and change management – scope definition and distribution, NEC Compensation Events (notify, track, calculate, quote, assess, defend, motivate, negotiate), claims, impact assessments, change orders and instructions Risk Management - Early Warnings, Risk Registers, mitigating, costing, etc NEC contract and commercial management – correspondence and notifications Project finances and cost engineering (estimating, quoting, budget tracking, forecasting, reporting) Proposals, bids, quotes and pricing, business and tender development Project Planning management – ensure schedule compliance and tracking, liaise between planning and technical team, providing updates and reporting on the plan, understanding and interrogating the plan Decide and give direction on planning actions (acceleration, crashing, resource loading and optimization) Subcontractor management and control (progress tracking, interface management, scope, quality, cost) Governance and QA – ensure the project follows all Jacobs and client procedures on heavily regulated projects (Eskom / Nuclear) *
