Project Manager II
Classification Title:

Construction Project Mgr. II

Job Description:

Manage development, design, and construction projects of all scales and types of minor projects. Develop design programs, cost estimates, and budgets. Carry out feasibility studies for projects. Develop and maintain project files.

Coordinate meetings between users and consultants. Provide as-built drawings to consultants. Arrange for site access. Coordinate review comments from UF review entities. Develop and enforce project schedule. Coordinate and arrange delivery of bid documents, advertisements for bidders, pre-bid meetings, and bid openings. Make recommendations for bid awards

Approve and process pay requests. Approve and process change orders. Attend regularly scheduled construction meetings. Manage and report progress of all projects weekly. Arrange (through Environmental Health and Safety (EH&S) and state fire marshal) review of 100% construction documents. Report new construction to insurance coordinator.

Review and comment on design packages.

Collect close-out documents from projects. Perform closeout duties at end of project. Provide other normal project management work (as may be required).

Serve as staff project manager (as required) for special assignments, providing technical advice to other staff members.

Work hours: Monday through Friday, 08:00 a.m. to 05:00 p.m.-Work hours and days may vary with assignments and workload-May be on-call during adverse weather conditions-May be available for evening and weekend meetings and events

A criminal background will be conducted.

Drives a state vehicle that requires a valid driver license.

Expected Salary:

Expected starting salary $70,000 yearly based on experience.

Minimum Requirements:

Master's degree in in an appropriate area; or a bachelor's degree in architecture, engineering, planning or building construction and two years of relevant experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

EDUCATION & TRAINING -Training in building construction, planning, and architecture-Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) Accredited Professional (AP) credential-

EXPERIENCE -Experience in building construction, planning, and architecture-Experience with the planning, design, and construction of university facilities

SKILLS -Computer skills in Microsoft (MS) Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and BIM (Revit) are desirable; LEED AP isrequired.-Computer skills in Revit Building Information Modeling (BIM)
