Summary:
The Project Manager (Franchise Development) will lead the franchise start process, supporting new/existing franchisees from signing to the opening of their Matco store. This role involves managing cross-functional projects, coordinating with internal teams (credit, training, franchise sales, operations, etc.), and supporting franchisees in a successful startup of their new Matco Franchise. The ideal candidate will have strong project management experience, a background in franchising or business development, keen attention to detail, and excellent written and verbal communication skills to ensure a smooth transition for new franchisees.
Key Responsibilities:
\n\nProject Planning & Execution:\n\nDevelop and execute project plans for each new franchise location, from signing to opening.\nCoordinate timelines, resources, and budgets to ensure on-time openings.\nMonitor progress and provide regular updates to key internal and external stakeholders.\n\nFranchise Onboarding:\n\nPartner with franchise sales team to assess and plan incoming franchisees.\nFacilitate onboarding and prepare franchisees for training and opening, ensuring alignment with brand standards and operational guidelines.\nAct as the primary contact during the onboarding phase to support franchisees and answer questions.\n\nCross-functional Collaboration:\n\nWork closely with credit, training, franchise sales, operations teams to streamline processes, ensuring franchisees receive a consistent experience.\nManage project communication across departments to keep all teams informed and aligned with project goals and upcoming openings.\nEnsure all necessary legal, compliance, and brand & operational standards are met.\n\nProcess Improvement:\n\nIdentify opportunities for improvement in the franchise renewal process, implementing best practices to increase efficiency.\nDevelop and maintain franchise documentation, including training materials, SOPs, and project management templates.\n\nMarket Analysis, Strategy, & Vendor Management:\n\nOversee vendor relationships and evaluate potential enhancements to the franchise start-up process to enhance the experience for new franchisees.\nAnalyze franchise performance data to identify trends and areas for improvement.\n\nRisk Management:\n\nProactively identify potential project risks and implement mitigation strategies.\nAddress and resolve any issues that arise during the project lifecycle, ensuring minimal impact on project timelines and franchisee satisfaction.\n\n\n\nQualifications:
\n\nBachelor’s degree in business, project management, or another related field. (preferred)\n5+ years of experience in project management, business development, or franchising.\nPMP or similar project management certification is a plus.\nStrong knowledge of franchise operations and legal requirements.\nExcellent organizational, multitasking, and problem-solving skills.\nAbility to work independently and with cross-functional teams.\nProficiency in project management tools (e.g., Asana, Microsoft Project, etc.) and CRM systems.\n\nPosition reports to the Director of Franchise Development
