About the Role:

Meadowlands Fire Protection, an affiliate of F&G Mechanical, is currently hiring an experienced Project Manager/Estimator to join our fire sprinkler department. In this role, individuals will maintain full financial responsibilities for fire protection construction projects and provide complete project planning, direction, and coordination.

Responsibilities:

Estimate and provide detailed pricing for bid quotations and packages Prepare proposals, sell work, and maintain customer relationships Oversee project organization, scheduling, budgeting, and implementation Review and expedite incoming and outgoing correspondences Schedule and attend job meetings with subcontractors and clients Choose and allocate field labor power Supervise equipment and materials—working with purchasing department and fabrication shop to expedite when necessary Monitor job progress Prepare schedule of values for monthly requisitions and monitor the status of payments Supervise take-offs and price changes with estimating department Negotiate settlement of change order requests Support field personnel as they work with subcontractors and resolve field problems as they arise Handle final project closeout Prepare job cost projections

 

Experience and Qualifications:

Minimum 5 to 10 years in the fire protection industry, including experience preparing cost estimates for construction projects Understanding of financial and accounting practices as well as contract documentation for construction projects   High School diploma or GED required Bachelor of Science with an engineering or construction management focus preferred; master’s in related field is a plus Working knowledge of federal, state, and city regulations and guidelines Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, (i.e. Outlook, Word, and Excel) Familiarity with a variety of construction software, including: AutoCAD and other electrical and technical programs Project management/document control software Financial software packages Ability to communicate in English and collaborate with team members, customers, government agencies, vendors, etc.


Physical Demands:

Must be able to stand and walk for prolonged periods of time Must be able to reach with hands/arms, climb and balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, and crawl Must be able to use hands/fingers to manipulate, handle, or feel Must be able to occasionally lift up to 25 pounds Must have strong vision, including ability to see close and long distances, use peripheral vision, and focus eyes Field work may be performed outdoors, in inclement weather, and may include exposure to noise, fumes, chemicals, moving mechanical and electrical parts, and high places
