MSA has a new opportunity for a Project Manager - Construction in our Cedar Rapids, IA office. This role supports project teams in construction related services, manages diverse infrastructure types of all complexities, and mentors other field staff to ensure the completion of projects on time. We are looking for someone with proven skills of building and maintaining relationships with clients and contractors alike. Responsibilities
WHAT YOU WILL DO
Communicate with internal and external clients in support of existing projects and the development of new projectsProvide oversight and guidance to less experienced colleagues in the field and provides constructability feedback and guidance to project design team.Regularly interact in a professional manner with the Public on project related issues. Perform marketing and business development in partnership with Team Leader, Client Liaisons, and Client Service Managers.Asseses Scope and Capabilities of the project, prepare Project Management Plan, QA/QC Plan and other plans necessary for successful project completion.Communicate via meetings, emails and other documentations to all stakeholders.Lead, oversee and/or perform constrcution layout staking services and/or survey layout services.Ensure delivery on all commitments, conduct quality reviews, and utilize a process/checklist for closeout.Track budget and review invoices. QualificationsWHAT YOU BRING
High School diploma requiredAssociates in Civil, Environmental, or Architectural Engineering Technology or related degree preferred6+ years of relevant work experience with survey equipment for data collection, layout and with construction related services.Professional licensure or project management/business/construction management preferred.Strong initaitive to complete projects on time.Proven skills in empathetic communication, crucial conversations and effective mentoring of team.Top notch negotiating skills.Ability to excel independently and within a team-based environment.GIS, CADD and various proprietary and commercially available software experience requiredSurvey equipment and various field-testing equipment experience required.
