The role
As a Project Manager, you’ll have a role that’s out of the ordinary. You'll be joining our dynamic Engineering team on the cutting-edge Type 31 frigate programme. This is your chance to play a pivotal role in driving success and efficiency across the project. You'll be at the heart of our mission, collaborating with various functions to ensure we deliver top-quality products that meet all requirements, all while keeping a keen eye on costs. You'll be part of a critical initiative that safeguards the UK's interests, joining at a thrilling stage of its development.
Day-to-Day, you'll ensure the project meets its objectives and delivers the expected outcomes efficiently, building integrated project delivery teams across various functions to collaboratively define, plan, monitor, and control the project's successful delivery.
Implement structures and processes to oversee the project's progress and ensure compliance with standards. Monitor spending against tasks; planning and controlling finances as a means of driving performance Provide a point of escalation for project team members for resolving issues and challenges faced. Accountable for planning and monitoring the project; submission of regular performance reports; indicating any deviations, corrective action taken and escalation of issues Manage customer and stakeholder relationships, addressing risks and implementing responses.
This role is full time, 36 hours per week and provides hybrid working arrangements with 3 days onsite and 2 days working from home.
Essential experience of the Project Manager
Experience as a Project Manager Detailed understanding and application of PM fundamentals (Project controls, cost schedule, delivery etc.) Engineering background Shipbuilding experience (Desireable)
Qualifications for the Project Manager
PMQ or willing to achieve within first 12 months Degree in a STEM subject is desirable but not essential
Security Clearance
The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain Security Check (SC) security clearance for this role.
