Project Manager
Job Title: Geotechnical Project ManagerJob Description A Geotechnical Project Manager is responsible for overseeing and coordinating geotechnical engineering projects from inception to completion. This role involves managing project teams, conducting geotechnical investigations, and ensuring projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the required standards. This role is ideal for someone with a methodical approach, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously. Responsibilities + Manage and coordinate geotechnical engineering projects from start to finish. + Develop project proposals, budgets, and schedules. + Monitor project costs and ensure projects stay within budget. + Conduct site visits and inspections to ensure compliance with design and safety standards. + Mentor and lead teams of engineers and technicians. + Design and implement geotechnical investigation programs. + Analyze and interpret geotechnical data, including soil, rock, and materials testing results. + Provide technical advice and recommendations based on findings. + Communicate effectively with clients, contractors, and regulatory agencies. + Prepare and present technical reports to clients and stakeholders. + Ensure client requirements and expectations are met throughout the project lifecycle. + Ensure projects comply with industry standards, regulations, and safety guidelines. + Keep up-to-date with current industry standards, technology, and regulations. + Implement quality control measures to ensure the accuracy and reliability of geotechnical data. + Manage subcontractors, including soil testing laboratories and freelance personnel. + Approve engineering reports, including bearing capacity calculations, piled foundation design, liquefaction assessment, and pile driving analyses. Essential Skills + Bachelor's degree in Geotechnical Engineering, Civil Engineering, or a related field. + Professional engineer license preferred. + Minimum of 5 years of experience in geotechnical engineering and project management. + Strong understanding of geotechnical engineering principles and practices. + Excellent project management, communication, and leadership skills. + Ability to analyze, interpret, and present geotechnical data effectively. Additional Skills & Qualifications + Geotechnical engineering expertise + Experience in soil testing and geotechnical analysis + Familiarity with EIT (Engineer-in-Training) certification Work Environment This role primarily involves office-based work with some field functions, typically in an 80/20 split.
