Project Manager
Job Title: Project ManagerJob Description The Sr. Project Manager is responsible for overseeing all aspects of an existing agreement related to the development of construction drawings for the installation, abandonment, replacement, or relocation of new and/or existing distribution and transmission (T&D) systems in Oregon and SW Washington and related service territories. The main focus of this role will be supporting and growing the Fire Mitigation program with the Oregon utility. The Sr. Project Manager will be accountable for overseeing daily design operations and pre/post accounting tasks to ensure contractual and financial obligations are met. This role involves working together with management to secure and manage future opportunities and projects, while effectively leading remote personnel. Responsibilities + Serve as the primary point of contact and liaison for local Oregon & SW Washington utility’s work groups. + Understand and execute contractual obligations related to Fire Mitigation T&D design. + Consult internal and external stakeholders on electric power industry design and construction standards. + Manage design scope, schedule, and budgets according to agreement terms and conditions. + Delegate work and assign tasks and deliverables to local and remote matrixed teams. + Monitor Key Performance Indicators, track critical path items, and provide reports as needed. + Manage design proposals, estimates, deliverables, invoice preparation, and other related project tasks. + Provide project analysis and metrics for individual projects to create trends and efficiencies. + Review, approve, and administer contracts for sub-contractors providing project support. + Manage scope changes and create appropriate documentation for change orders related to existing contract terms and conditions. + Coordinate design and financial reviews necessary for project deliverables. + Review and approve design submittals, cost estimates, and justifications for change orders and other project work requests. + Communicate project status to appropriate stakeholders and departments. + Represent company power delivery services in meetings involving customers, field personnel, and other related stakeholders. + Negotiate solutions for internal and external complications. + Read and understand proposed civil improvement construction plans. + Coordinate with agencies for record and permitting purposes. + Travel for project-related purposes. + Perform related duties and responsibilities as assigned. Essential Skills + Working knowledge of power utility design and construction specifically related to Transmission and Distribution. + Experience working on and leading in a project management capacity on wildfire engineering teams. + 5+ years of work in the electric power and wildfire mitigation utility industry relating to T&D design and construction. + 5+ years of project or program management experience related to power utility projects. + Experience in leading a team of 2-5 individuals. + Experience with scheduling software such as Microsoft Project and Primavera P6. + Bachelor's degree in engineering (civil, structural, electrical, or mechanical preferred) or a related degree. + Professional engineering (PE) preferred or ability to obtain one within a year. Additional Skills & Qualifications + Project Management Professional Certification (PMP) preferred. + Experience in public utility design and construction, natural gas pipelines, water/sewer infrastructure, or electric distribution overhead. + Knowledge of permitting entities/municipal requirements. Work Environment The work environment is mostly remote, hybrid, or in-office/client sites, depending on the employee's residence in the Portland, OR area and preferences. There are three office locations employees can work out of: Downtown Portland, Wilsonville, and Corvallis.
