We have an immediate need to hire a project manager to oversee our robotic gas main rehabilitation field work. This is a unique opportunity to work with one of the most advanced technologies in the industry and oversee a solid team of field technicians and robot operators.

 

What does a day in the life of a Project Manager look like for ULC Pipeline Robotics?

We are currently seeking a detailed oriented individual capable to manage field pipeline robotic projects from start to finish including all phases of the project planning, client interaction, resource and sub-contractor management and reporting/deliverables. The ideal candidate will have experience managing complex projects, will be capable of handling a diverse task load and will be able to travel to our field job sites in New York, Boston Area and New Jersey. It is anticipated that 75% of the candidate’s time will be spent in the field on utility construction sites.

 

Roles and Responsibilities include:

Gain a comprehensive understanding of our equipment, processes and methods. Monitor crews and work methods to ensure all work is being carried out accurately and safely. Monitor status of all upcoming, current and future projects to ensure productivity levels are met. Maintain crew work schedules. Oversee daily report, project close-out reports and invoicing to ensure all information is accurate and delivered on time. Manage the availability of spare parts, tooling and PPE required by crews. Meet with clients to report as needed on project status and the state of project work scope. Participate in weekly calls. Work with utility clients to identify upcoming municipal issues (permitting) to ensure there are no project delays. Work with utility clients ensuring that proper permits and fittings have been ordered. Speak to utility clients regularly about upcoming work. Receive and review project maps; identify and address concerns and assist with project planning. Assisting with growing the team; identifying candidates, reviewing resumes, conducting interviews. Oversee new team members and their training.

To be Successful you will have:

Experience in managing turnkey field projects; direct experience managing utility work a plus. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to anticipate obstacles and think ahead about next steps. Ability to troubleshoot and resolve equipment and personnel problems in the field. Knowledge of gas pipe installations and reading site plans. Ability to travel as needed to job sites. Clean driving record; ability to pass random drug testing and background check. Knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook.
