Project Manager

Position: Project Manager 

Job Description: 

As a Project Manager you will be joining a growing, innovative team that is taking Forward Air to the next level! You will manage and/or play a significant role in program execution and the delivery of projects which are part of Forward Air’s overall transformation efforts. This includes defining, managing, and coordinating multiple project timelines related to overall program governance, business process design, system implementation, and business transformation efforts. You will work directly with functional workstream leaders, business leaders and consultants to ensure the successful completion of tasks and projects. As the ideal candidate you will possess excellent influencing skills and have demonstrable experience in driving project completion and benefit realization, with the ability to prioritize and resolve inter-dependencies across the company. The successful candidate will be thorough, process-driven and have first-class organizational and communication skills. 

Core Responsibilities & Duties: 

Provides change management services including impact assessments, stakeholder engagement, change plans, business readiness and adoption, to client groups as needed to support large change efforts  Conducts analysis on financial data and evaluates change management and communications effectiveness and impact on business (e.g., Measures KPIs and ROI on business impact through formalized metrics and reporting)  Collaborates with internal clients to assess change impacts and make recommendations to address priority needs (engagement, communications, and training)  Ensures that change management objectives are aligned with business strategies and are consistently executed  Collaborates with other team members on various projects  Builds relationships and teams collaboratively across the Forward Air team and other cross functional and/or project teams in planning, designing and executing change support solutions and programming  Participates in development, modification and support for all business lines including systems, processes, and tools (such as governance, process optimization, technology implementations, etc.)  Develops detailed project plans, leads project implementations, and evaluates project results (project management experience)  May partner with vendors or external consultants to build communication frameworks and/or business architecture solutions  Provides communications services including developing plans, creating messaging, writing content, and communications deployment through various channels as needed to support enterprise level change management efforts  Leads and executes communications plan design and development (both technical and soft skills), delivery, and assessment of value added  Collaborates with internal clients to assess communications needs and make recommendations to address priority needs  Identifies communications opportunities and acts as point of contact for communications within project work streams  Experience in using multiple tools and channels for creating and deploying communications content and tracking usage and effectiveness by resource  Administers all communications related activities for change management plans  Other duties as assigned

Qualifications: 

3-5 years change management, project management and communications related experience  Excellent consultation and assessment skills, with demonstrated ability to interact with various levels of stakeholders  Knowledge of and experience in organizational change, culture change theories, models and techniques preferred  Change management certification (PROSCI, etc.) or Project Management Certification (PMP, etc.) a plus  Communications design experience  Familiar with communications approaches for diverse workforce audiences  Demonstrated ability to work with various communications tools and channels and experience creating multi-faceted communications plans  Demonstrates technical proficiency as well as advanced software skills (e.g. Microsoft Office, Teams, and Adobe) SharePoint admin experience a plus  Excellent verbal and written communication and presentation design skills  Strong teamwork skills and ability to work productively across Forward Air Business Line Divisions (LTL & Intermodal)

Strong work ethic with the ability to work well under pressure and multi-task  Must be professional, energetic, self-motivated, and have a positive attitude  Excellent interpersonal skills and demonstrated ability in working with senior executives  Excellent planning and organization skills  Strong attention to detail; strong quality assurance skills  Freight, logistics, or supply chain industry experience a plus  Bachelor's degree from an accredited university in Business, Communications or IT related field preferred
