Project Manager

Your Role 

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Project Manager to lead and manage a large-scale architectural project through all phases of design and delivery. This project is an exciting, large-scale, mixed-use (including: commercial, residential, cultural, transit, retail, entertainment, hospitality, education, etc.) international project, offering the opportunity to be an integrated and active member of a diverse, multi-disciplinary team, working alongside multiple Gensler offices. Based in our Chicago office, you will be responsible for overseeing the entire project lifecycle—from initial planning and concept development through execution and completion. 

This role requires a keen attention to detail, strong interpersonal and leadership skills, and the ability to manage multiple stakeholders and resources effectively. You will serve as the primary liaison between the client and the project team, ensuring that work processes flow smoothly, budgets and timelines are met, and technical excellence is delivered. Your contributions will be critical to the successful design and delivery of world-class architectural projects. 

 

What You Will Do: 

Project Planning: Develop comprehensive project plans, including timelines, budgets, and resource allocation. 

Client Coordination: Collaborate with clients to understand their design requirements and preferences, ensuring their vision is accurately translated into the project. 

Design Oversight: Oversee the design process, providing guidance and feedback to the design team to ensure high-quality deliverables. 

Risk Management: Identify and manage project risks and issues, implementing solutions to mitigate them. 

Stakeholder Communication: Conduct regular project meetings and keep all stakeholders informed about project progress and any changes. 

Resource Management: Manage project resources, including team members, materials, and equipment, to ensure efficient and effective project execution. 

Quality Assurance: Review and approve final design deliverables, ensuring they meet client needs and industry standards. 

Documentation: Maintain detailed project documentation for reference and reporting purposes. 

Budget Management: Ensure projects are completed within budget and financial constraints. 

 

Your Qualifications: 

Bachelor's or master's degree in Architecture, Construction Management, or Engineering 

Proven experience in managing large design projects, preferably in a leadership role. 

A minimum of 10+ years of related experience  

Strong understanding of design principles and industry-specific needs. 

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. 

Proficiency in project management software and tools. 

Certification in Project Management (PMP, PMI, etc.) is preferred.

**Compensation is based upon experience and estimated range is $102,000 – $130,000 annually + bonuses + benefits
