Steampunk is looking for an experienced Project Manager with an appetite for taking on challenges. You're going to be challenged each day with new and complex mission and delivery opportunities as you serve as the team lead for a major mission system. 

 

Ideal candidates will thrive with clients in a consultative capacity and will have experience managing teams of technical personnel to build Salesforce systems. 

Contributions

As a Project Manager, you will be the leader, driving delivery in a government client consulting environment. You will be a client manager, coach, mentor, and an accountable project manager with a proven track record of leading deployments of solutions in a federal government contracting Salesforce environment.

Responsibilities include:

Ensures team(s) maintains focus on quality and continuous deliveryMonitors team morale and plans/coordinates team-building activities to maintain positive team moraleProvides visibility into delivery targets, commitments, and progressCreates Roadmaps and Milestone charts for the projectUnderstands and coaches the team on delivery controls, compliance to minimize operational, and reputational riskUnderstands domain architecture and targets to identify upstream and downstream dependencies and to support the team in risk managementProactively identifies impediments and appropriately resolves using network of peers and formal channels (including escalation if required)Integrates Agile and Lean principles into team practices and work productsAssesses the current organization and delivery environment and recommends optimal practices tailored to the clientPrepares and delivers effective communications both verbally and orally regarding progress and status for both internal and client teamsPerforms hands-on project work, including analysis, design and change management, as needed by the projectWe need more than just a coach, we need someone who will also roll up their sleeves and deliver too.

 

Qualifications

Required:

Authorized to work for any U.S. employerAbility to obtain a Federal ClearanceBachelors degree, or equivalent years of experience, preferably in Information TechnologyProven background in federal government contracting and project management7+ Years in Project Management and Information TechnologyProficient in Microsoft ProjectExperience leading software development implementations in federal government contracting environmentsAbility to establish immediate credibility with clients, build consensus, and achieve goals through influenceFlexibility to work with teams, individuals and executives and willingness to help with a wide variety of work products and peopleProven experience of leading the deployment of enterprise and custom Software solutions in client environmentsDemonstrated ability to influence and consult while providing thought leadership to sponsors/stakeholders in solving governance, project management, business process and/or technical problemsExperience defining project scope, objectives, deliverables, and success metrics in collaboration with stakeholdersExperience developing detailed project plans, schedules, and risk management strategiesExperience generating executive-level reports and dashboards on project health, milestones, and financial performanceExperience using data-driven insights to identify areas of improvement and recommend optimizationsExcellent communication skills (both written and verbal) with strong presentation and facilitation skillsStrong interpersonal skills, customer-centric attitude, ability to deal with cultural diversityProven team player and team builderStrong organizational and analytical skillsKnowledge of government procurement processes, contracts (e.g., GSA schedules, IDIQ), and compliance standards (e.g., FAR, DFARS).Experience with managing budgets, task orders, and subcontractor relationshipsProven experience with Agile methodologies and tools (e.g., JIRA)Must have USDA experience 

Preferred: 

Scrum Master certification (Certified Scrum Master, or equivalent)PMP CertificationExperience with Human-Centered Design

 

About steampunk

Steampunk relies on several factors to determine salary, including but not limited to geographic location, contractual requirements, education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience. The projected compensation range for this position is $110,000 to $175,000.  The estimate displayed represents a typical annual salary range for this position.
