Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems (NGAS) has an opening for a Manager Project Management 2 to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals within our Manufacturing Engineering organization. This leadership role is located in Palmdale, CA.
This role will support the STRIKE Manufacturing Engineering Leadership Team, supporting the Director. The ideal candidate must possess strong leadership abilities, excellent communications skills, and effective problem-solving capabilities. The selected candidate will be required to develop mechanisms for monitoring performance metrics and for intervention and problem solving with various support groups. They must be knowledgeable of various program life cycles, manufacturing engineering capabilities, scheduling techniques, continuous improvement strategies, compliance requirements, and financial practices to aid in cost and schedule objectives and implement strategic initiatives.
The selected candidate must demonstrate effective communication with various levels of leadership and have the ability to present to executives and various functional organizations as required.
Key responsibilities include:
This leader will be over new financial developments for the STRIKE Manufacturing Engineering organization.Assisting in the management of performance, schedule, and cost of the STRIKE Manufacturing Engineering organization.Managing developmental-type tooling and familiarity with redline processes in support of manufacturing engineering requirements and processes.Assessing project issues and developing resolutions to meet productivity, quality, and client-satisfaction goals and objectives.Developing mechanisms for monitoring manufacturing engineering goal progress as well intervening and problem solving with Manufacturing Engineering leadership and support functions as required.Coordinating with the STRIKE Manufacturing Engineering Director for forecasting of staffing, skillsets and tools.Identifying and leading functional focus area initiatives for improvement/streamlining, developing and executing operational initiatives driven by operational goals and sector-specific objectives; assisting with initiatives that eliminate non-value-added activities at all levels.Preparing for, and facilitating, a broad range of functional Manufacturing Engineering organization meetings and events including leading and managing weekly/monthly/quarterly reviews, the senior leadership team’s weekly staff meeting agenda, the bi-annual leadership summit, site visits, and other meetings/reviews.Integrating day-to-day operational objectives to meet organizational goals.We offer flexible work arrangements, 4/10 Monday- Thursday 5am to 3:30pm work schedule with every Friday off, phenomenal learning opportunities, educational assistance, exposure to a wide variety of projects and customers, and a very friendly team environment. Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree AND 5 years of Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing, Global Supply Chain, and/or Project Management related experience.Must include 5 years of Engineering experience.Must have 2 years of management or leadership experienceMust have an active DoD clearance AND ability to obtain (PAR) within a reasonable period, as determined by the company to meet its business need.Preferred Qualifications:
Experience within the STRIKE Production portfolioProficient in NX/CAD, Teamcenter, SAP, MS OfficeDemonstrated ability to balance and influence multiple competing priorities and interests.Demonstrated ability to understand detailed program financial performance.Proficient in managing multiple budgeted networksRobust problem solving and analytical skills.Comprehensive knowledge of company and sector operations, policies, procedures, and PrOP.Salary Range: $125,500.00 - $188,300.00The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
