Job Description

Veolia Water Technologies & Solutions (VWTS) is a worldwide leader in water recovery,
treatment and reuse. We design and supply a range of water systems, from food and
beverage applications to municipal water, to microelectronics ultrapure water and heavy
industrial wastewater treatment. Our portfolio of technologies includes solids-contact
clarification, membrane & media filtration, ion exchange, electrolysis, digestion, evaporation,
ozone/UV disinfection and more.
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Project Management Leader (PML) of
Project Managers to oversee and guide our team of project managers. The ideal candidate
will have a proven track record in project management, outstanding leadership skills, and the
ability to drive projects to successful completion.
The Project Management Leader (PML) directs a staff of professionals (Project Managers)
that manage internal teams and external stakeholders to deliver water treatment projects to
our customers, on time and in quality, within the financial parameters/targets defined
internally.
1. Leadership and Team Management
● Oversee the revenue target and lead the project team to deliver the revenue target in
each quarter throughout the full financial year by conducting regular performance
reviews
● Oversee the as-sold Gross Margin of each project and lead the team to maintain or
enhance the as sold margin
● Oversee the past due or over due in each project and lead the team to keep the past
due as zero or accepted level by the business
● oversee design and fabrication and delivery of Ozone & UV equipment and system,
maintain or improve project finances, and foster customer relationships.
● steers the group of Project Managers, guides them in the process application (ProjEx
QMS), with particular emphasis on the project staffing, the project strategy, the
project planning, the project team management, the customer relationship, the
project risks and opportunities management, and the delivery of financial results
along the year.
● takes care of Project Managers development and their wellbeing within the company,
while addressing the overall workload of projects to be managed, in close
interactions with other PM Leaders and all other functions involved in project delivery.
● The PM Leader is a strong advocate for values such as team spirit, empowerment,
and accountability.
● The PM Leader is responsible for the size, skill and growth of their team. The PML
must assess, coach and structure their group to meet the demands of the business
as it grows and evolves. Through this team, the PML is accountable to NAM Projects
for ethics, safety, technical and financial performance of the portfolio, customer satisfaction and regular reporting of these various aspects of the Project Management activity
● The PM Leader also dedicates particular attention to get relevant return of
experience shared by the Project Managers with the broader team, and to connect
upstream with Sales and Applications team members, to foster sharing best practices
and winning strategies for future bids/tenders.

2. Project Oversight:
● Oversee the planning, execution, and closure of multiple projects, ensuring they
align with organizational goals and client expectations.
● Monitor project progress, identify potential risks, and implement mitigation strategies
to ensure successful project delivery.
● Ensure that project managers adhere to established project management
methodologies and best practices.

3. Stakeholder Communication:
● Act as the primary point of contact for senior management and key stakeholders,
providing regular updates on project status, risks, and milestones.
● Facilitate effective communication between project managers, clients, and other
stakeholders to ensure alignment and transparency.

4. Resource Management:
● Allocate resources effectively across projects, ensuring optimal utilization of
personnel, budget, and materials.
● Collaborate with other departments to secure necessary resources and support for
project execution.

5. Quality Assurance:
● Ensure that all projects meet quality standards and comply with relevant regulations
and industry best practices.
● Implement and maintain quality control processes to continuously improve project
outcomes.

6. Strategic Planning:
● Contribute to the development and implementation of project management
strategies, policies, and procedures.
● Identify opportunities for process improvements and lead initiatives to enhance
project management practices

The PML is required as a creative, practical, and experienced leader. They will wear many
hats as job requirements and business needs shift, and must be good natured, able to rally a
team, and communicate a vision. They must navigate complex engineering organizations
and sometimes work effectively across time zones, continents, and cultures.

Qualifications

Minimum requirements for the position:
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, Economics, or an equivalent field
Ten (10) years’ minimum experience in project management, engineering, finance or
equivalent, in water companies
Direct people management experience

Useful skills or abilities:
Experience evaluating, optimizing, and tracking business performance in a complex
organization
Ability and desire to assess, steer, coach and/or build a team of mid-career and/or
experienced professionals
Analytical approach to problem solving with ability to exercise good judgment and
common sense under changing conditions, stressing environment, or incomplete
information
Experience managing Engineering, Procurement & Construction (EPC) or complex
contracts will be an asset
The role requires the ability to travel domestically (NAM) and rarely internationally up
to 30% of the time
