In this job, you will manage an R&D project on developing models for the forecasting of solar irradiance and PV power. Ultimately, these models will be used by our customers that operate in different parts of the electricity value chain supporting both asset operation and electricity trading. As project manager you’ll coordinate efforts of the team members (researchers, engineers, data scientists, PhD students).
Your day-to-day activities:
You act as the project leader of the Solar Forecasting project.You participate in the hands-on research and model development work in the solar forecasting topics.You drive the solar forecasting tasks of our short-term modeling support activity supporting the business units and our OneTech partners.You stay up to date about the latest ideas and developments in the field of solar forecasting by studying new papers and attending (and contributing to) the primary scientific conferences.You represent TotalEnergies in the IEA PVPS Task 16. Context & EnvironmentTotalEnergies is the world leading PV project developer with around 40 GW either in operation, in development or in the pipe. The company aims to be a top 10 electricity producer and top 5 renewables player. Our role in the Solar R&D is to prepare the Company for the coming challenges as one of the top PV developer and operator.
Your role will be key in developing forecasting models and algorithms to allow our Business Units improving the operation of our assets and become the best at predicting and anticipating the PV energy production.
