Corgan is actively recruiting a dynamic Project Interior Designer to join the firm as part of our Workplace Interiors team in our new Washington DC office.  Tackle these responsibilities alongside a team of creative, highly motivated individuals who are passionate about their work and ready to collaborate to achieve outstanding results. Our ideal team member is passionate and progressively seeking more responsibilities to expand their expertise. 

 

Responsibilities Excellent Communication with team membersCoordinate all phases of the design process in full life cycle projectsGenerate creative design solutions within the functional parameters of a projectTranslate programming, client objectives and goals into design conceptsExecute the process of coordinating with consultants, preparing and completing usable construction document detailing solutionsParticipate in business development opportunitiesCoordinate the selection of materials, furnishings, fixtures, and equipmentManage contract administration responsibilitiesAssist with creation and management of project schedulesDevelop & present appropriate technical solutions to stakeholdersAssist with leading project studio team members, leveraging strengths, and providing mentorshipWork proactively to resolve issues that arise between project, design, and technical objectives of the project, in coordination with Project ManagerExecute coordination and integration of architectural and consultant documentsSeek innovation in design solutions in an ongoing spirit of curiosity and increased project performanceDemonstrate understanding of appropriate industry standards and construction practiceApply knowledge of construction methods and timelinesMaintain awareness of, and appropriately apply, new methodologies, practices, codes, and productsAttend and conduct presentationsManage client relations

 

Qualifications

Qualified Project Interior Designers already exhibit these strengths and talents:

Degree from a CIDA accredited Interior Design program or equivalent7+ years of experience in commercial design; Workplace experience strongly preferredDisplay strong design portfolio showing strengths in conceptual design, space planning skills, and detailingExcellent Communication skillsSuccessful experience in business development preferred; interest in pursing business development opportunities requiredRevit proficiency and technical excellenceThorough understanding of how a drawing set is assembled and integratedAcumen for how things are built and constructability, and the ability to apply that knowledge to support the project design and budgetGeneral understanding of building and accessibility codes Experience coordinating with a variety of consultants and contractorsInterest in sustainable designProfessional registration Effective organizational and communication skillsAttention to detailFlexible attitudeAbility to collaborate in a diverse project team environmentDemonstrated experience coordinating and leading projects teams Ability to translate design concepts and information into imagesConfident presentation abilityAbility to travel

Base Salary Range: $85,000 to $115,000 annually – Washington DC location only

The estimate range represents the general base salary range of candidates hired in Washington DC only. Factors that may be used to determine your actual salary may include internal equity, experience, education, specialty, and training. In addition, base salary is not inclusive of total compensation.
