Primoris Industrial & Civil is seeking a Project Estimator with a background in analyzing project specifications, technical drawings and design documentation to accurately determine the expenses and timescales associated with implementation/construction and maintenance projects. The ideal candidate understands the role of an estimator adheres to budget and scheduling constraints while maintaining safety and quality standards.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Estimate projects in accordance with Primoris Policies and Procedures. Prepare work to be estimated by gathering proposals, drawings, specifications, and related documents. Identify labor, material, and time requirements by studying proposals, drawings, specifications, and related documents. Analyze regional labor rates and per diems to be used in the estimate. Consult with clients, vendors, personnel in other departments to discuss and formulate estimates and resolve issues. Prepare special reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends. Maintain technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing technical publications. Review and confirm estimating takeoffs provided by their Estimating team, Engineering and CAD designers. Review and confirms quotations from vendors and subcontractors provided by their Estimating team. Mentor Estimators and Junior Estimators to assist in their development and professional growth. Presents to leadership their own estimates and provides supervisory support for estimates prepared by their team.QUALIFICATIONS
10 years of experience estimating projects in the construction industry. Strong background in mechanical and structural estimation. Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management or similar preferred. Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel and office programs. Ability to travel to project sites to understand construction sequence, means and methods, site conditions and perform time-studies.BENEFITS
