Job Summary Langan is seeking a Project Environmental Scientist, Geologist, Engineer to join its collaborative team in Parsippany, NJ or New York City. This individual will serve a key function in managing environmental investigation and remediation projects, delivering technically excellent services, preparing technical proposals and reports, conducting environmental research and analyses, supervising field investigations, and managing staff. In this role, you will have the opportunity to work with a highly collaborative team on a complex and diverse portfolio of brownfield redevelopment projects and challenging environmental investigation and remediation projects in a continuous learning environment. The position will offer ample opportunity to work on our large-scale and high-profile land development projects redevelopment projects where you’ll also have the opportunity to work collaboratively with our Geotechnical and Site/Civil Engineering teams. Job Responsibilities + Management of environmental investigation and remediation projects; + Supervise field activities and review and interpret findings; + Lead and deliver on multiple projects and tasks within specific budgets, schedules, and deadlines; + Perform analyses for specific portions of broader engineering and environmental projects; + Prepare regulatory reporting and project documents including investigation reports and work plans, project specifications reports, and other documents; + Prepare proposals and track task and project budgets; + Provide oversight and management of staff for specific project assignments; + Coach, train, and motivate staff assigned to Environmental projects. Cross-train staff from other disciplines supporting environmental projects; + Interface with clients, contractors, subcontractors, regulatory agencies, staff, project personnel, supervisors, and others; + Attend client and project team meetings and perform site visits to assess project progress and staff performance; and + Perform other duties as requested. Qualifications + Bachelor's degree in Environmental Engineering, Civil Engineering with an environmental concentration, Environmental Science, Geology, or related technical field; + 6+ years of related work experience; + Experience developing and managing project budgets; + In-depth knowledge and understanding of New York City and New York State regulatory requirements; + Experience preparing and managing the implementation of work plans for projects regulated by the New York City Office of Environmental Remediation and New York State Department of Environmental Conservation; + Excellent written and verbal communication skills; + Strong attention to detail with excellent analytical, multitasking, data management, data interpretation, and judgment capabilities; + Ability to effectively work independently and in a team environment; + Hazwoper training, maintenance of annual physical and respirator fit test, and annual 8-hr. Hazwoper re-certification; + Possess reliable transportation for client meetings and job site visits in New York City and New York State and a valid driver’s license in good standing; and + Possession of professional licensure (PE, CHMM, PG) or ability to obtain with one year. The estimated range for this role is: $99,000 - $115,500. Actual compensation may vary based on factors such as related work experience, location, market conditions, education/training, certifications and other credentials, as well as applicable knowledge and skills. Certain roles may be eligible for overtime and participation in the firm's annual bonus and performance review program. Bonuses are discretionary and based on individual job performance and the profitability of the firm. Employees are also eligible to receive up to 20 days of paid vacation time, 10 days of paid sick time and 10 paid holidays throughout the year. Eligibility and actual paid time off may vary based on local law and factors such as hours worked, related work experience and level.
