We are hiring a motivated Project Engineer with experience in Structural Engineering to join our dynamic team.  In this role, you will develop design plans and execute structural engineering initiatives, with a specific focus on energy and sustainability.  The ideal candidate should be capable of applying a broad knowledge of structural and civil engineering principles to various energy projects including gas, electric, and clean energy initiatives.

Responsibilities Include:

Create structural plans, sections and details and develop designs or evaluate existing structures using computer analysis methods and hand calculations in accordance with applicable building codes, standards and specifications. Develop site plans, permitting drawings and basic grading and drainage designs and utility layouts including those using trenchless crossing methods. Design sheeting and shoring for support of excavations Review reports and drawings from other disciplines related to the projects Perform structural assessments of deteriorated /ageing infrastructure Review structural submittals, shop drawings, and contractor's request for information Research permit requirements and local regulations  The candidate will participate in BL's leadership development programs and will have a unique opportunity to make a broad and significant contribution to BL's growth while advancing their leadership skills. The candidate will be expected to perform both structural and civil engineering work based on current project needs.

 

Required Experience:

B.S. in Civil Engineering EIT required 3+ years’ experience with design structure and foundations Knowledge of reinforced concrete, steel and masonry design Excellent written and oral communication, organizational and technical skills Understanding of geotechnical investigation report content, preferred but not required

 

A Project Engineer at BL companies has an expected base salary of $72,000 - $105,000 depending on experience. This is in addition to straight time overtime for every hour over 40, generous PTO, Leadership Development programs, 401k match and no-cost Stock Plan, and our 100% Employee Owned model.
