Volt is immediately hiring for a Mechanical Project Engineer in New Berlin, WI.

\r\n\r\n

\r\n\r\n

As a Mechanical Project Engineer, you will be responsible for all mechanical and structural design activities necessary to support the modification and modernization of electric overhead cranes. In addition, you will:

\r\n\r\n\r\n\tBe responsible for the Product Lines – Legacy EOT and Portal Cranes\r\n\tInterpret order documentation including detailed customer specifications to determine scope of work and project plan\r\n\tSearch company archives to find records of legacy equipment; must be proficient in reading legacy equipment mechanical and structural drawings\r\n\tPerform engineering tasks using established procedures\r\n\tCreate equipment layouts, undertake all necessary mechanical and structural calculations to confirm designs and generate final mechanical and structural designs\r\n\tCreate detail, sub-assembly, assembly, and installation drawings necessary to satisfy the order scope\r\n\tWrite detailed work instructions to support field installation\r\n\tBe responsible for project planning, scheduling, design execution, and performance to budget and schedule from inquiry through start-up\r\n\r\n\r\n

This is a full-time, direct-hire opportunity.

The ideal candidate will have:

\r\n\r\n

\r\n\r\n\r\n\tBachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Structural Engineering or a related field\r\n\tMinimum of 5 years of experience with overhead electric cranes or similar industrial equipment\r\n\tA PE license or the ability to obtain licensure is a plus\r\n\tExcellent understanding of machine design and structural engineering practice\r\n\tFamiliarity with industry specifications including CMAA and ASME B30\r\n\tKnowledge of welding and machining\r\n\tExcellent verbal and written communication skills\r\n\tProficient with SAP, AutoCAD, Solidworks, and Microsoft Office\r\n\tAbility to effectively communicate between frontline sales, customers, application engineers and project management\r\n\tAbility to work at heights up to 100 feet off the ground\r\n\tAbility to travel domestically and internationally, up to 5% to meet with customers, commission equipment, and inspect product at various manufacturing locations\r\n\r\n\r\n

\r\n\r\n

Salary: $85,000- $110,000 per year

\r\n\r\n

*Pay range offered to a successful candidate will be based on several factors, including the candidate's education, work experience, work location, specific job duties, certifications, etc.
