Job Description

We specialize in both new construction and interior renovations including embassies, multi-family, commercial projects, and interior fit-outs. The Project Engineer is responsible for overseeing the estimating or preconstruction process for assigned projects. This role includes assisting in establishing and maintaining standardized procedures, methods, and processes for estimating and training personnel in their use. Maintaining strong relationships with subcontractors is also a key responsibility.

ResponsibilitiesOversee the estimating or preconstruction process for assigned projects.Establish and maintain standardized procedures, methods, and processes for estimating.Train estimating personnel in the use of standardized procedures.Maintain relationships with subcontractors.Work with executives to determine the suitability of potential projects using bid matrix and review of documents.Produce budgets and estimates for assigned projects.Assign trades to the estimating team and create and distribute scopes of work to subcontractors.Review scopes of work prepared by other team members.Prepare for and conduct handover meetings on all successful projects to ensure the operations team understands how the estimate was prepared.Maintain the estimating schedule for assigned projects, including requesting additional resources when necessary.Essential SkillsProject managementConstructionConstruction managementRenovationChange ordersRequest for Information (RFI)SubmittalsStrong communication skills to effectively communicate with subcontractorsProficiency in MS Office ProgramsExperience with Building Connected Pro SoftwareCommercial constructionAdditional Skills & Qualifications2-5 years of experience in related fieldsAbility to work with executives to determine the suitability of potential projectsExperience in producing budgets and estimatesExperience in assigning trades and creating scopes of work for subcontractorsAbility to conduct handover meetings for successful projectsExperience in maintaining estimating schedules and requesting additional resources when necessaryWork Environment

The work environment is fast-paced and deadline-oriented, requiring a high level of ownership for errors. The culture in the office and on-site is collaborative and team-oriented, with everyone working closely together to ensure deadlines are met efficiently and high-quality work is produced. On-site presence is required as needed, and office presence is required as needed

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $70000.00 - $90000.00/hr.
