This role focuses on Research & Development (R&D) and New Product Development (NPD) initiatives within the defense industry, specifically in ammunition research and development programs.
ResponsibilitiesCollaborate with the Advanced Programs team to execute ammunition research and development programs.Design new products, including components, subassemblies, and assemblies, with an emphasis on producibility and affordability.Conduct assembly and component analysis using hand calculations, tolerance stackup analysis, and engineering simulations such as Finite Element Analysis (FEA).Assemble and test prototypes in both laboratory and ballistic settings.Plan projects and phases, track task completion, and coordinate functional and subcontracted support teams to drive execution of analyze-design-test-validate cycles for product development and qualification.Develop and present subsystem and system technical design reviews.Work under limited supervision, exercising responsibility for meeting technical, financial, and schedule objectives of projects.Essential SkillsBachelor's degree in Engineering, preferably Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or Materials Science.Experience in the defense industry.Proficiency in SolidWorks for solid modeling and detail drawing creation, with an understanding of GD&T standards.Experience with mechanical design and analysis tools like FEA.Project management skills.Strong customer relations capabilities.Experience in R&D and NPD.Additional Skills & QualificationsPermanent resident of the United States due to ITAR restrictions.Understanding of internal and external ballistics and lethal mechanisms is a plus.Excellent organizational skills, including project management.Strong oral and written communication skills.Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint (MS Project is a plus).Ability to collaborate effectively with peers, supervisory employees, and customers.Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $90000.00 - $120000.00/yr.
