BASF’s Catalysts division is the global market leader in catalyst technologies. The division develops and produces mobile emissions catalysts as well as process catalysts and offers precious metals trading, recycling and related products and services.  

 

As a Project Engineer at the BASF Vidalia, Louisiana site, you will be managing the site’s capital plan including development, planning, scheduling, and project execution.  

Additional responsibilities as a Project Engineer include managing site drawings, working with diverse engineering disciplines, procurement of materials and providing support to operations and maintenance organizations.

As a Project Engineer, you create chemistry by... Leveraging your skills and experience to develop project scopes, generate and/or obtain cost estimates, prepare appropriation funding requests and ensure that appropriate project safety reviews are completed as required both before and after approval.Develop and maintain partnerships with assigned project manufacturing representatives to execute projects from initial scoping and funding, through detailed engineering and procurement, to startup and commissioning, and then final documentation and closure.Request and coordinate required process and design engineering and design resources, whether from the site or corporate groups or outside engineering vendors, to prepare engineering design deliverables and to procure equipment, fabricated materials, and services.Maintain SAP project data entries, monitors project progress through scheduling and other tools, performs project status reporting, and controls spending through appropriate tracking, forecasting, and adjustments.Using your creativity, problem solving skills, organizational skills, and attention to detail to develop costs savings, increase work effectiveness, and improve utilization of manpower.Providing excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively work with supervision, operations, engineering, and maintenance personnel.
 If you... Have a bachelor’s degree in engineering, chemistry, physics, mathematics construction management/Technical discipline preferred with 5+ years of experience in a chemical or related manufacturing operation.Demonstrate competencies of analytical thinking, communication and interpersonal understanding, initiative, team working and team leadership, and quality orientation/attention to detail.Hold project engineering experience.Are Familiar with technical standards, accounting and procurement practices.Are proficient in basic computers skills including Microsoft OfficePossess knowledge in SAP project functions preferred.Create your own chemistry with you@BASF
