Project Engineer, PE

The Opportunity:

Tetra Tech is looking for Project Engineer (Civil) to join our team. The successful candidate will work in New York City and provide civil engineering analysis and design on a variety of federal, municipal, commercial, and resiliency projects, including stormwater, grading, multiuse paths, complete/green streets projects, active transportation projects, water and sewer pipelines, pump stations, retaining walls, bridges, and related ancillary structures. The ideal candidate will be ready to be a part of and grow with a team and have an interest in technical design. Mentoring of more junior staff is expected, along with a desire to learn and grow from more senior engineers and project managers.

Your Role:

 Perform engineering design with a focus on water related infrastructure and other water resource facilities. Conduct site investigations and inspections, delivering detailed assessment reports. Generate design calculations, technical reports, drawings, and specifications. Support development of permitting related documents Evaluate alternatives, resolve technical issues and interface with other engineering disciplines. Coordinate projects with clients, subconsultants, contractors, and regulatory agencies. Provide engineering support during construction. Assist in project management responsibilities including budget and schedule tracking, invoicing, attendance at project meetings and general correspondence. Participate in marketing efforts related to capturing new work including lead and/or assistant in writing proposals and participating in project interviews.  

 

Qualifications:

Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering, Master's Degree preferred. Professional Engineering (PE) license required, or ability to obtain within 6 months. 8+ years of engineering design experience, required. Experience with flood mitigation and resiliency is beneficial. Experience with hydraulic modeling software, AutoCAD Civil 3D and Revit is desired. Extensive experience in municipal infrastructure design and permitting. Construction management and/or inspection experience is desired. Strong leadership and managerial skills. Valid Driver's License with an acceptable driving record. Proficient with Microsoft Office software (to include Word, Excel, Project) required.

 

Salary Range: $123,000 - $170,000, depending on experience.
