The Project Coordinator supports the Georgia Clinical & Translational Science
Alliance (Georgia CTSA, the NIH-funded Clinical and Translational Science Award) Research
Education Program. Georgia CTSA represents a collaboration between Emory University,
Morehouse School of Medicine, Georgia Tech, and the University of Georgia. The Georgia
CTSA Research Education Program includes the Emory Master of Science in Clinical Research
[MSCR] program, the Certificate Program in Translational Science (CPTS), and two NIH-funded
training grants including the Georgia CTSA KL2 program (which supports career development
and clinical and translational research training for junior faculty at Emory and the Georgia CTSA
partner institutions) and the Georgia CTSA TL1 program which supports clinical and
translational research training for predoctoral and postdoctoral trainees. The project
coordinator must be able to work effectively with a dynamic team and also be able to work
individually on projects. The project coordinator will work with a wide variety of individuals
including other Georgia CTSA staff, faculty and program leadership at Emory and the Georgia
CTSA partner institutions as well as trainees and students. The project coordinator must also be
detail oriented and have good interpersonal skills.

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Manages a project. Coordinates the strategic planning process and monitors progress toward achieving project goals. Assists in developing, administering and monitoring project related budgets. Coordinates logistical arrangements for related conferences, conventions or meetings. May assist in identifying funding resources and in developing funding strategies and initiatives. Develops and generates various operational and statistical reports. Represents and promotes the project at various speaking engagements. May write grants, reports, briefings, newsletters, promotional or other written material related to the project. Performs related responsibilities as required.

ADDITIONAL JOB DETAILS:

Provide general program support and coordination to students and faculty in the Master of Science in Clinical Research (MSCR), Certificate Program in Clinical Science (CPTS), KL2 Career Development Award for Junior Faculty, and a TL1 Predoctoral and Postdoctoral Clinical &Translational Research Training Program.Develop and manage social media accounts.Update and maintain print and digital program materials.Collaborate with faculty to coordinate workshops and trainings (both in-person and virtual) for program trainees and students.Coordinate campus visitors.Helps manage financial aspects of the Research Education Program.Helps monitor progress toward achieving established objectives, goals, and deadlines.Helps develop annual progress reports.Helps implement tracking mechanisms and collaborates on evaluation activities as well as
helping to ensure adherence to NIH and Emory University program guidelines and requirements.Opportunities to design and implement new initiatives, collaborate on publications on program outcomes.Develops and monitors budgets related to program activities.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

A bachelor's degree in a related field and three years of related project management experience, or an equivalent combination of experience, education and training.

NOTE: Position tasks are generally required to be performed in-person at an Emory University location.  Remote work from home day options may be granted at department discretion. Emory reserves the right to change remote work status with notice to employee.
