Job DescriptionThe Joint Staff is responsible for training military forces to respond to crises around the globe. We are seeking a highly organized, detail-oriented, dedicated and customer-centric Information System Project Manager (Project Coordinator) to support our government contracting efforts onsite in Suffolk, VA. This individual will join our Agile team and drive the delivery of high-value solutions. As the primary link between our customers, stakeholders, and the development team, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring that our products meet the needs of our users while aligning with business and technology strategy. This role involves working closely with leadership, project teams, subcontractors, and clients to deliver project needs.
Essential Job ResponsibilitiesThe Information System Project Manager (Project Coordinator) will be responsible for:
assisting in the planning, execution, and monitoring of projects within the government contracting space, ensuring compliance with government regulations, client requirements, and internal processes leading and directing one or more project teams engaged in the design, implementation and modification of IT projects that span across functional areas preparing project execution plan and identifies appropriate technical and business resources needed for the team ensuring projects are completed on schedule, within budget and meets technical requirements of the assignment. establishing close collaboration with Product Management, Project Leads, and Development Leads to align product strategy with customer needs and organizational goals.
Key support areas include:
Project Support: Provide administrative and logistical support for government contracts and projects, including preparing project documentation, tracking milestones, and ensuring adherence to project schedules. Coordination: Serve as a central point of contact for project-related communication, coordinating meetings, managing action items, and ensuring project team members stay on task. Compliance and Documentation: Ensure all project documentation is accurate, up to date, and compliant. Risk Management: Assist in identifying potential project risks and issues, and work with Program Management, Project Managers, and Team Leads to develop mitigation strategies and corrective actions. Reporting and Communication: Prepare regular project status updates and reports for internal stakeholders, management, and government clients. Team Support: Foster user relations and engagement, ensuring a deep understanding of customer needs and preferences. Understand and adhere to solution strategy, vision, and roadmaps, guiding the team in delivering solutions that align with organizational goals. Minimum Qualifications 2 years relevant experience with Bachelors in related field; 0 years experience with Masters in related field; or High School Diploma or equivalent and 6 years relevant experience. Education requirements may be adjusted for applicable work experience. Work experience may be adjusted for highly specialized knowledge or uniquely application experience. Must have good working knowledge of Microsoft Office Products, including Outlook, Teams, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint, and Word. An active Secret security clearance is required. Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams. Strong analytical, problem-solving abilities, and critical thinking with a focus on driving continuous improvement and value delivery. Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team. Flexibility to adapt to changing project requirements or deadlines.
