Smyth Industries Engineering Division is currently searching for an individual with Water Infrastructure Industry experience as a Project Coordinator to help enhance our current team. We provide full-service electrical, civil, manufacturing, engineering and general contracting services for the water and reclamation industry.
The ideal candidate will foster teamwork and create a positive work environment in a fast-paced industry, while helping our Arizona clients engineer, rehabilitate, manufacture and construct water distribution and treatment infrastructure.

In your job, you will have the ability to make a difference in the water and reclamation industry by:
SCOPE: Under supervision, the Project Coordinator plays a vital role in supporting the engineering team throughout the construction project lifecycle for the water and reclamation industry. This position involves coordinating project activities, managing timelines, and ensuring effective communication among stakeholders to deliver high-quality engineering solutions on time and within budget. Support and adhere to the Smyth Industries Policies and Procedures, Safety Compliance, and Values.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities :
+ Assist in planning and executing engineering projects by coordinating schedules, resources, and team efforts related to water and wastewater.
+ Maintain detailed construction project documentation, including schedules, budgets, and change orders.
+ Serve as the primary support point of contact between engineering teams, clients, and other stakeholders.
+ Facilitate meetings and project updates to ensure all parties are informed of progress and issues with construction of water/wastewater treatment and distribution systems, which may include pump/lift stations, well sites, water and sewer lines, treatment systems, and storage reservoirs.
+ Monitor resource allocation and support project teams in identifying and acquiring necessary materials to support water/wastewater projects.
+ Collaborate with procurement and supply chain teams to ensure timely delivery of project components.
+ Collect and analyze project data to identify trends, risks, and areas for improvement.
+ Prepare regular status reports and presentations for stakeholders and management.
+ Support quality control efforts by ensuring compliance with project specifications, standards, and regulations.
+ Assist in identifying potential risks and developing mitigation strategies.
+ Contribute to the development and refinement of engineering processes and practices to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
+ Provide feedback on project performance and suggest improvements based on insights gained during project execution.
+ Prepare and submit technical documents, drawings, and specifications to clients and other stakeholders for review and approval.
+ Ensure all submitted documents comply with relevant standards, codes, and regulations. This may involve verifying that engineering designs meet safety and quality requirements.
+ Work closed with engineers and other stakeholders to gather necessary information and ensure that all required documentation is complete and accurate before submission.
+ Track submission statuses, deadlines, and feedback. Provide regular reports to project managers or engineering teams about the progress of submissions.
+ Maintain and organize submitted documents to ensure easy retrieval and reference in the future.
Minimum Qualifications :
+ 1-3 years of experience in project coordination or engineering support roles.
+ Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities.
+ Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams) and other relevant software.
+ Attention to detail to ensure accuracy and compliance in all submitted documents.
+ Critical thinking skills to address and resolve any issues related to document submissions.
+ Ability to work well in a team environment and collaborate with various stakeholders.
+ Strong verbal and written communication skills.
+ Required to possess a valid driver's license and legally be able to operate a company vehicle.
+ Required to pass a preemployment drug screening.
+ Must be able to physically perform all required duties which may include bending, lifting 50-pound objects, carrying 50-pound items, squatting, climbing ladders, working in confined spaces, working outdoors most of the time, or standing for prolonged periods of time.
+ Required to wear company supplied Personal Protective Equipment.
+ The applicant should be comfortable working around industrial equipment.
+ Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and other relevant software.
Preferred:
+ Technical certification in engineering, drafting, document control or a related field.
+ Basic understanding of engineering principles and terminology.
+ Familiarity with project management software and tools (e.g., MS Project, Primavera, Procore).
+ Project Management Professional (PMP) or similar certification is a plus.
