Project Architect

Your Role 

 

As a Project Architect in Gensler’s dynamic Miami office you will collaborate with your teammates to develop design solutions, as well as coordinate design through the construction documentation and construction administration phases of core and shell and interior architecture projects. You will be successful because you already know how to translate sketches and documents into realized 2D/3D models and images and can research artistic and/or technical issues when they arise. This role is expected to support projects for Hospitality, Mixed Use, Office Developers, Workplace and a variety of other project types.  

 What You Will Do  

Work in a team environment and collaborate with interdisciplinary teams on varying project types Collaborate on all project phases including programming, project strategy, client needs, conceptual design, schematic design, design development, space planning, consultant coordination, construction documents, construction administration and management of budgets and schedules Coordinate with all team members on delivery of project milestones including design team, clients, consultants, contractors, fabricators, regulatory agencies and other vendors to meet overall project objectives Produce graphic presentations including 3D renderings, and construction drawings Contribute to the production of plans, elevations, details, specifications, and material selections needed for construction Provide technical support and documentation during completion and execution of all phases of project work  Clearly communicate your design ideas to the project team Assist in managing client expectations, team communication and consultant coordination Establish and maintain ongoing, productive client relationships Work in a synergistic manner with other design and professional staff Participate and contribute to office and firm culture Champion Gensler’s diversity and inclusion goals with respect to staff, partners, and consultants 

Your Qualifications 

Bachelor's degree in Architecture from an accredited program 5-7 years of experience as an Architect/Project Architect/Designer/Technical Designer/Intern Architect/Job Captain – ideally with some experience designing within the Hospitality Practice Area (hotels, amenity spaces, resorts, lounges, restaurants, etc.) Proficient in Revit, SketchUp, AutoCAD, 3D, including Enscape, VRay, Grasshopper, Rhino and other visualization software Interior architecture and/or ground up building architectural experience (ideally both!) Strong knowledge of the design process, including FF+E, furniture systems and specifications, color and materials Outstanding conceptual 3-dimensional thinking and graphic presentation skills to effectively communicate design ideas Strong Knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite applications including Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign; SPEXX a plus Flexibility to focus on concurrent projects in various stages of development Strong conceptual thinker Close attention to detail and technical abilities Highly capable in communicating design ideas and direction effectively and quickly A quick learner with an ability to thrive in a fast-paced work environment Strong leadership, organization, communication, and relationship management skills Hand rendering skills to communicate design concepts are a plus Licensed / Registered Architect (If you are in the process of taking exams, feel free to contact Stacie_Smith@gensler.com to discuss a similar role.) LEED accreditation is a plus Demonstrated commitment to sustainability and sustainable building practices; Portfolios should include at least one project (especially built projects with LEED, Living Building Challenge, WELL Building Standard, Fitwel, and/or Net Zero Building certification) with this particular focus, which we look forward to discussing during the interview
