The role
As a Project Accountant, you’ll have a role that’s out of the ordinary. You’ll provide accurate and timely financial insights across all areas of responsibility, empowering Business Unit and Project Managers to effectively manage finances, maximise value for money, improve cashflow, and enhance profitability.
Day-to-day, you’ll manage accounts, ensure data integrity with audit trails, prepare Project Status Packs, issue accurate invoices on time, and produce Cost Certificates/statements for the MOD per contract terms.
Prepare and analyse accounts monthly, ensuring accuracy and timeliness. Maintain audit trails to meet both internal and external audit requirements. Create monthly Project Status Packs and quarterly reports for management and Senior Management reviews. Generate accurate customer invoices promptly, adhering to contracts and standards. Produce Cost Certificates and MOD statements in line with contractual obligations.
This role is full time, 35 hours per week and provides hybrid working arrangements.
Essential experience of the Project Accountant
Proficient in Excel with strong technical knowledge and adaptability. Highly detail-oriented, maintaining exceptional quality standards. Effective communicator with strong interpersonal skills across all levels. Organised and efficient, excelling in task management. Familiarity with IFS and/or Business Analytics is advantageous.
Qualifications for the Project Accountant
Fully Qualified ACCA / CIMA
Security Clearance
The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain Security Check (SC) security clearance for this role.
