Project Accountant

WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING: 

 

Monitoring the financial progress of projects, investigating variances, and ensuring billings are issued to customers in a timely fashion and according to the terms and conditions of the contract. 

Managing monthly revenue recognition for assigned projects and regions. 

Creating and managing all project related billings to customers with coordination with project managers. Setting up new customers and new projects for billing with internal and customer systems.  

Preparing AIA documents and lien waivers. 

Calculating and managing monthly sales commissions. 

Issuing subcontractor purchase orders. 

Maintaining project related records, including contracts, supplements, and change orders. 

Working closely with internal sales and operations team to verify, set up, and process new orders. 

Following up on past due accounts receivable. 

Other duties as assigned.     

 

WHAT YOU WILL BRING TO THE TEAM:  

 

2-5 years of experience with billing processes 

Successful experience managing project billing and financials within a construction project driven business. 

Knowledge and understanding of construction accounting principles including percent complete accounting and AIA billing processes. 

The ability to multi-task, prioritize and work efficiently against deadlines. 

Excellent computer skills: Microsoft Office Suite, Internet, Email etc. 

The ability to learn and use new technology/systems quickly. 

Organizational skills and attention to detail must be natural talents. 

Ability to work in an open office environment.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to frequently stand, walk, sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb stairs; talk or hear; lift (overhead, waist level) from the floor, bending, frequently utilize near vision use for reading and computer use; occasionally move equipment weighing up to 15 pounds, and frequently position self to maintain computers or other equipment as needed. 

 

TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS: 

 

Travel as necessary to support company and customer needs.
