DGIF is converting to a Windows 7 environment. This position will analyze the agency's internally developed application portfolio, make recommendations for enhancements and/or upgrades, and work with agency staff to develop, test and document solutions.
Job Description:
DGIF maintains an agency developed portfolio of 40 to 45 client server applications. Security and other controls built into each agency application rely on the Windows XP operating system and folder structure. This project will review the methodology used for client server applications and security controls, make recommendations for migration to Windows 7, and work with agency developers to implement approved solutions.
A successful candidate will:
*Analyze the agency's current Windows XP environment and translate it to Windows 7.
*Make recommendations for upgrades and enhancements to the agency's usage of the Windows environment and to individual agency applications. Individual applications are developed with Access 2007 or .NET framework interfaces and are supported by SQL Server 2005 databases.
*Fully document requirements for accepted solution(s).
*Work with agency staff to develop solutions, including testing, deployment, and documentation.
*Perform under limited supervision; a wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected.
Years of Experience:
Advanced experience in the IT industry and as a programmer analyst.
