Job Purpose:

Rosebank College is looking for a Programme Manager, who will be responsible and accountable for the effective and efficient operation of the Academic Department.

Key Performance Area:

Academic Support

Responsible for Academic Development and Performance monitoringLecturer development and peer reviewsFaculty performanceMonitoring effective use of Learn activitiesStructured / scheduled class visits to assess and review the delivery of quality teaching and learningStudent evaluation of teaching (SET)

Teaching & Learning

Accountable for delivery of Teaching and Learning, which will include

Direct academic student engagementStudent success rate – at modular level and programme levelStudent support and developmentTeaching and Learning; in and out of the classroomProgramme Coordination Committee meetingsContributes to programme improvements, both content and assessmentsModule / subject consultations

Management of resources

Responsible for recruitment of department and/or faculty assigned resources, which will include

Programme CoordinatorsFull Time LecturersIndependent Contractors

Management and leadership

Responsible for the management and leadership of department / faculty in respect of

On-boarding of staffCreation and management of campus timetablesCreation and promotion of academic culture on campusResult analysis and student support interventions / activitiesImplementation and collaboration of teaching and learning strategies and activitiesDeveloping and implementing intervention programmes for at-risk students

 

To consult on issues regarding: -

Academic and student support integrationCoordination of student’s admission into programmes

Person Description

Education:

Minimum Qualification/s

 PGDHE/ Degree level equivalent Education qualification Degree in one of the listed specialties below

Preferred Qualification/s

Preference will be given to candidates who have lecturing / teaching experience in the any of the following fields:

Accounting/FinanceBusiness Management/Strategic ManagementHuman Resources ManagementProject ManagementOperations Management

Work Experience:

5+ years Higher Education lecturing experience3 - 5 years in Teacher or Lecturer developmentAn understanding of the current South African Higher Education regulatory framework and its impact on higher education and private colleges
