Job TitleProgramme Manager (AD06)LocationJohannesburg,ZAOrganization NameWits ICTDepartment DescriptionMain Purpose:The main purpose of this position is to lead and manage all ICT projects and personnel within the Project Delivery Office. To ensure all projects and processes are aligned with Wits ICT strategy, policies and standards.
Brief DescriptionKey Responsibilities:Motivate and manage projects: Develop and maintain comprehensive programme plans, including scope, schedule, budget, resource allocation, and risk management plans. Monitor programme progress, track key performance indicators (KPIs), and report on programme status to stakeholders. Conduct regular programme reviews and adjust plans as needed to address challenges and capitalize on opportunities. Build and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders, including clients, vendors, and internal teams. Conduct regular Steerco meetings with relevant supporting documents for complex projects ensuring documents are delivered in good time for participant engagement. Ensure projects are conducted in line with any agreements in place with external stakeholders.
Manage and develop human resources: Lead and motivate cross-functional teams, ensuring effective communication, collaboration, and performance.
Manage project budget and expenditure: Manage programme budgets, track expenditures, and ensure financial viability.
Manage risk: Identify, assess, and mitigate programme risks and issues proactively. Ensure compliance with relevant regulations, standards, and best practices.
Produce management reporting: Produce management reports per project, per programme and across the entire team for executive and stakeholder management.
Develop and maintain processes that ensure the delivery of projects aligned with the University strategic direction: Continuously improve programme management processes and methodologies.
Requirements: Bachelor DegreeProject Management Qualification. (Prince2, PMP or similar)Required Years of Work Related Experience
