What we want
The Program Specialist III, under the direction of the Director for Enrollment and Academic Services, performs moderately complex administrative and supervisory work to provide and coordinate professional level programmatic support for the School of Engineering Medicine.

Location: The position is located with the School of Engineering Medicine located in Houston, Texas in the Heart of Texas Medical Center.
Required Education and Experience
+ Bachelor’s degree in applicable field or equivalent combination of education and experience
+ Four years of administrative or program support experience
Preferred Qualifications
+ Professional experience in higher education or a medical setting
+ Knowledge of TAMUS Policies and Regulations and Texas A&M University Rules
+ Experience planning academic workshops and classroom events
+ Experience preparing reports on program activities
+ Proficient with Microsoft Office products; Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
+ Excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills
+ Excellent computer skills, including proficiency with word processing, spreadsheets, presentation software applications, and calendar/email management
+ Must be adaptable to change and able to work in a team environment while entrusted to complete individual projects, as needed
+ Must have high level of attention to detail, strong organizational and writing skills
+ Must possess a strong work ethic and be able to balance conflicting priorities and make decisions based on approaching deadlines
+ Ability to multi-task and work cooperatively with others
Responsibilities
+ Curriculum Support: Monitors curriculum compliance utilizing university systems. Assists with managing student schedules, documentation, evaluations, assessments, and grades. Respectfully interacts with students, faculty, staff, and external stakeholders. Maintains strict confidentiality with regards to FERPA and HIPAA documentation, i.e., student records. Maintains and coordinates data required to comply with institutional program and accreditation requirements in a timely manner. Ensures compliance with university graduate student policies and procedures and Graduate and Professional School student forms.
+ Program Support: Under the supervision of the Director, assists with the administration and management of the graduate and professional degree programs for the School of Engineering Medicine. Aids in planning, implementation, and monitoring of the Engineering Medicine program. Supports the preparation and maintenance of reports on the effectiveness of program activities. Assists in the development and delivery of program goals and objectives. Aids in developing program guidelines, procedures, policies, rules, and regulations. Facilitates program activities; may represent the university with respect to program activities on a local, regional, and/or national basis in the absence of the Director. Assists with the creation of a range of promotional, educational, and informational presentations, and/or resource materials related to program activities and initiatives.
+ Operational Support: Monitors project timelines and ensures tasks are completed by assigned deadlines. Interprets program policies and assists in ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local laws, rules, and regulations. Prepares the collection, compilation, and analysis of program activity data; may develop, write, edit, and present comprehensive statistical and narrative program reports and evaluations. Performs other duties as assigned.
