The Clinton Health Access Initiative, Inc. (CHAI) is a global health organization committed to our mission of saving lives and reducing the burden of disease in low-and middle-income countries. We work at the invitation of governments to support them and the private sector to create and sustain high-quality health systems.
CHAI was founded in 2002 in response to the HIV/AIDS epidemic, with the goal of dramatically reducing the price of life-saving drugs and increasing access to these medicines in the countries with the highest burden of the disease. Over the following two decades, CHAI has expanded its focus. Today, along with HIV, we work in conjunction with our partners to prevent and treat infectious diseases such as COVID-19, malaria, tuberculosis, and hepatitis. Our work has also expanded into cancer, diabetes, hypertension, and other non-communicable diseases, and we work to accelerate the rollout of lifesaving vaccines, reduce maternal and child mortality, combat chronic malnutrition, and increase access to assistive technology. We are investing in horizontal approaches to strengthen health systems through programs in human resources for health, digital health, and health financing. With each new and innovative program, our strategy is grounded in maximizing sustainable impact at scale, ensuring that governments lead the solutions, that programs are designed to scale nationally, and learnings are shared globally.

Program & Position Overview
In Indonesia, CHAI has been working in immunization program since 2017, supporting MoH for introduction of PCV (Pneumococcal Conjugate Vaccine). After successful introduction of PCV, CHAI has become one of trusted partners of MOH in Immunization, leading to support request in other new vaccine’s introduction and now a zero dose (ZD) program.
Zero dose children, as of now defined as children who have never received DTP1 immunization in the last 5 years, amounted to 1.8million children by the end of 2023. In addition to plateau immunization coverage of 86% in years leading to pandemic, COVID-19 pandemic exacerbated the number of ZD. Vaccine preventable diseases (VPDs) outbreak that occurs in the last 2 years is believed to be the result of low immunization coverage in the last few years. Through Gavi (Global Vaccine Alliance) Middle Income Countries (MICs) strategy, Indonesia develop strategy to reach and immunized ZD children with vision of no-one-left-behind. CHAI is supporting MOH in implementing ZD strategy in CHAI designated focal areas which are West, Central, and East Java. The ZD work will focus on identifying ZD children, identifying the barriers and developing tailored solutions to it, implementing the solutions, and developing implementation lessons learned. CHAI ZD works will be implemented in synergy with MOH and other partners’ ZD works and other CHAI vaccine works.
CHAI is currently seeking 2 (two) Program Officers, Vaccine ZD who will be supervised by Senior Program Officer ZD and Senior Program Manager. 1 (one) position will be based at province level (West Java), and 1 (one) position at national level.
Responsibilities Provide strategic and administrative support to Senior Program Officer and Senior Program Manager to ensure smooth and successful program development and implementationEnsure effective communication with key local partners and internal program for better coordination and planningOperationalize and implement recommendations and technical guidance as agreed with local partnersIn coordination with Senior Program Officer ZD, support government partners at subnational level with planning, analytics, problem-solving and implementing of ZD strategyWork closely and support partners at subnational level (Provincial and District Office of Health, Primary Health center and other related local government bodies), including communities to ensure the success of ZD program implementationFacilitate monitoring, evaluation and analysis for continuous program adaptation and improvementEnsure the documentation of activities and outcomes in order to create replicable models and policy advocacy documentsPerform basic finance and admin functions as needed, especially related to activities, under the guidance of the CHAI Finance team.Perform any other tasks assigned by Senior Program Manager and or Associate Program Director and or Country Director. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in a medical, public health or a quantitative discipline; Master degree in related discipline is an advantageAt least three (3) years of work experience within a demanding and results-driven environmentStrong analytical skills and ability to think strategically and in a change-oriented mannerEntrepreneurial ability to work quickly and effectively with minimal supervisionSensitivity to cultural contextsAbility to handle multiple tasks simultaneously, set priorities, and meet deadlines and to absorb and synthesize a broad range of informationStrong leadership and diplomacy skills, able to build relationships and influence stakeholdersProven track record working in challenging multi-stakeholder environments with willingness to adapt to unpredictable environmentExcellent attitude to the work and self-motivated personaFluent in English (oral and written) and in IndonesianSufficient knowledge of the Indonesian Health System, experience in primary health care, is an advantage.#jobreference1 #region2
