Nelnet is looking for a program manager for its growing reinsurance business. The ideal candidate will have a solid financial background and/or education and experience in operations and program management. They will exhibit prior experience with data management, financial reconciliations and contract management. The individual will have the opportunity to collaborate with external managing general agents, reinsurance brokers, and insurance carriers.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

What will your job entail? 

Operations 

Assist the evaluation of new treaty proposals with management 

Manage processes inherent to reinsurance treaties such as contract monitoring. 

Manage requests of renewal submissions for in force portfolio and follow-up with brokers to receive information on time. 

Process Management reports as requested. 

General 

Makes recommendations for process improvements considering all aspects of the job along with internal guidelines, compliance and industry standards. 

Analyzes data, prepares and presents reports to management. 

Completes appropriate compliance functions to ensure the ethical and financial integrity of transactions. Participates in audits and assists in providing documents and explanation as necessary. 

EDUCATION:

College degree – BS preferred or equivalent experience.

EXPERIENCE:

A minimum of one year of program management or other operations-focused experience 

COMPETENCIES – SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE/ABILITIES:

Knowledge of insurance and claims principles practices and procedures. 

Good interpersonal and communication skills.  

Ability to work independently. Self-directed showing personal accountability and sense of urgency. 

Good analytical and problems solving skills. 

Ability to effectively resolve reinsurance operational issues and able to manage competing demands. 

Ability to manage details 

Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite as well as other business-related software, such as Power Apps. 

Salary Range for this role is $80,000- $100,000 depending on experience
