Program Manager - Batch Build Execution
Job Description

Hybrid. This role is categorized as hybrid. This means the successful candidate is expected to report to Warren, Michigan three times per week, at minimum. 

The Role:

GM is seeking a to lead Batch Build execution across Automotive vehicle programs. This Program Manager will need expertise in vehicle development processes, high efficiency project and program management techniques driving on-time quality results, developing and leading strong cross functional teams.  The ideal candidate must have experience in vehicle program execution and launch, with a solid background in overall vehicle development processes [including program framing, development and execution], and extensive understanding in the operational structure and supportive business functions [Planning/Program Management, Design, Product Marketing, Purchasing, Engineering, Development, Validation, Manufacturing, Order Fulfillment, Sales, Service].

The Program Manager will:

Develop strong teams through effective facilitationAnticipate risk throughout the development processDrive through ambiguityManages issues and uncertainties through effective decision framing and driving for resolution

This role involves a high level of independent judgment and ingenuity. The ability to work cross functionally and with various levels of management is a necessity. 
 

What You’ll Do

Collaborate and manage cross-functional teams to develop and implement on-time strategic plans through the vehicle development process enabling batch build execution; requires working with Program Teams, Product Marketing, Purchasing, IT, Supply Demand, Order Fulfillment, Manufacturing operations and Manufacturing Engineering.Look ahead … anticipate risk throughout the development and execution process.Develop and architect the batch building process and standards for future vehicle launches, ensuring the successful first-time execution and capturing of lessons learned for future application.Identify opportunities for additional cost savings, and process improvements throughout initial application and future batch build implementation.

Bachelor’s degreeMBA or equivalentOEM experience in vehicle assembly batch buildingIn-depth knowledge of vehicle assembly batch building strategies, including planning, logistics, and best practices.
