Amazon is the global leader in e-commerce. Since our start in 1995, we have significantly expanded our product offerings, international sites, and worldwide network of fulfillment centers and delivery stations. Our focus on the customer and innovation drives the growth of Amazon, offering our customers more types of products, more conveniently, and at even lower prices.
We are seeking a dynamic, passionate self-starter to join the Global Road Safety team as Program Manager (PM), Safety Standards. This role will be focused on the development and review of standards and procedures related to transportation safety, including creating and updating standards with a global and regional scope. Amazon is constantly innovating and our documents must evolve with the business to ensure we maintain the highest safety standards for our Associates, third party service providers, and the general public.
Development of road safety standards and procedures will be guided by regulatory mandates, industry-accepted standards, and evaluations from transportation experts. This position demands the ability to identify safety shortcomings, manage timelines effectively, convey risk assessments to upper management, and handle extensive project scoping. Success in this role hinges on skills in inter-departmental collaboration, project oversight, presenting to executives, a drive for process enhancement, and a track record of achieving results. The ideal candidate must be proactive and adept at navigating uncertainty with last and middle mile transportation. Given that the path to objectives may not always be clear, you'll need to chart the course by taking calculated risks, embracing innovation, and quickly learning from failures to refine approaches. Candidates with strong analytical capabilities and a robust background in safety will be highly regarded.
