CCCSE, a service and research initiative in the Department of Educational Leadership and Policy in the College of Education at The University of Texas at Austin, provides important information about effective educational practices in community colleges, delivering critical information about the student experience. CCCSE assists institutions and policymakers in using survey results to promote improvements in student learning, persistence, and attainment.

This position is fixed term, and the expected end date is December 31, 2026, with the possibility of the renewal and the extension of the appointment depending on funding and performance.

Must be authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis for any employer without sponsorship.

Purpose

The Program Manager for DESSE (Dual Enrollment Survey of Student Engagement) is committed to advancing the growth and sustainability of DESSE by fostering strategic relationships with community colleges and their high school district partners. This key role leads efforts to drive the successful marketing, administration, partnership-building, and overall impact of DESSE, a vital resource for evaluating and enhancing the dual enrollment student experience. With expertise in dual enrollment programs, established connections with thought leaders, and a deep passion for improving outcomes for dually enrolled students, the Program Manager ensures DESSE continues to inform and transform the educational landscape.

Responsibilities

Oversee the marketing and college recruitment strategy for DESSE, focusing on engaging community colleges and their designated high school districts to ensure long-term sustainability of DESSE.

Provide critical insight and innovative thinking to strategically develop engaging content, tools, resources, and trainings that empower college and district leaders to harness DESSE data effectively, turning insights into actionable strategies for student success.

Represent CCCSE on a national stage and contribute to the higher education field’s body of knowledge about dually enrolled students through the development of original written work, speaking engagements, and other essential mediums.

Stay abreast of current and emerging trends in higher education as they pertain to dual enrollment—to ensure those trends are integrated with CCCSE’s efforts.

Cultivate and sustain influential relationships with dual enrollment practitioners, high school leaders, and national experts, fostering partnerships that amplify DESSE’s mission and impact.

Deliver excellence by ensuring all grant milestones and deliverables are met on time, aligning seamlessly with DESSE’s goals and stakeholder expectations.

Required Qualifications

Doctorate degree in higher education

10+ years working in higher education

Experience with dual enrollment education

Experience in presenting to small and large audiences

Relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience working at a community college

Experience engaging with college leaders and administrators

Salary Range

$100,000 + depending on qualifications

Working Conditions

May work around standard office conditions.

Employment Eligibility:

Retirement Plan Eligibility:

The retirement plan for this position is Teacher Retirement System of Texas (TRS), subject to the position being at least 20 hours per week and at least 135 days in length. This position has the option to elect the Optional Retirement Program (ORP) instead of TRS, subject to the position being 40 hours per week and at least 135 days in length.
