Program Director II - Youth Engagement Team (YET)
Overview Our Commitment to Equity The Y actively promotes a culture free from bias and injustice. We are dedicated to removing institutional and systemic barriers that result in oppression and racism. We will be accountable to marginalized communities for creating equitable and sustainable environments where social justice is woven into every facet of our programs, and by caring for our communities in a culturally versatile and respectful manner. Job Summary The Youth Engagement Team (YET) Program Director will oversee the development and execution of the YET consortium, which includes multiple programs designed to support unaccompanied youth at risk of or currently experiencing homelessness. These programs utilize a multi-disciplinary approach integrating housing navigation, legal advocacy, and mental health support. The Director is responsible for managing Y programs, and subgrantees receiving pass-through funding, ensuring that both programs and subgrantees collaborate effectively to deliver services in alignment with contractual agreements. This includes supervising YET staff, coordinating services, streamlining processes, generating referral processes, and ensuring compliance with funding requirements. The Director will ensure that the team operates within a trauma-informed, positive youth development framework while managing core services to support youth stabilization. Additionally, the Director will monitor program outcomes, track performance targets, and ensure compliance with funding requirements. This oversight is crucial for achieving positive outcomes and the effective use of resources. The Director will also lead collaboration meetings, strengthening partnerships with internal teams and external stakeholders, to ensure services are integrated, responsive to youth needs, and compliant with all standards. This position is with the Y Social Impact Center, the social services division of the YMCA of Greater Seattle (YGS), serving around 5,000 youth, young adults, and families every year in communities across King County, Pierce County, and various counties across WA. Through our programs we aim to strengthen young people’s ability to develop to their fullest potential through four strategies: reducing risk factors; navigating systems towards successful life transition; establishing stability, safety and wellness in times of crisis; and building competencies and social capital. The Social Impact Center’s programs include homelessness prevention, housing, behavioral health, crisis response, foster care licensing, violence prevention, and employment. Since many of the young people we serve have been involved in the foster care, criminal justice, behavioral health, and/or homelessness systems, we truly value relatable lived experience of our staff and those applying for our positions as an asset. Position Type/Expected Hours of Work This position is full-time and exempt. The position operates Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, and requires flexible working hours, including occasional evening or weekend shifts, depending on the needs of the team and ongoing projects. The Director will be expected to balance remote work, in-office attendance, and participation in community events. Travel between King County and Pierce County will be required due to the reach of current programs. Regular in-office attendance (at minimum 2-3 days a week and is subject to change) and timely travel are essential to maintaining effective team collaboration and ensuring the success of the consortium's initiatives.
