The D&S Program Director is responsible for the overall allocated program scopes execution and associated program leadership and management to ensure the successful design, development, integration and delivery of the work scope for the program and to contribute to its overall successful delivery. This includes the establishment of the program team, strategic planning, implementation and management of project deliverables (configuration and data management), the definition collection and reporting of project metrics (engineering performance, schedule, costs, dependencies, resources) the management of any additional allocated work scope and resources, and the identification of issues and risks to the Senior Director as soon as possible. Management of the critical customer and key industry partner interfaces as well as reporting back into the key business stakeholders is critical component of this role.
Key Responsibilities:
Overall leadership of the scope for allocated program scopes is delivered in accordance with contemporary Program Management Best Practices. Lead and manage the program team within the combined allocated program scope across Australian and US based teams. Ensure program execution on schedule through technical compliance, schedule and earned value in accordance with program requirements. Ensure program execution to the agreed estimate at complete (EAC). Deliver comprehensive plans and supporting artefacts to ensure program success. Develop and foster a collaborative culture in the program team and supplier partners for program success. Lead and manage all the combined allocate program scope, ensuring successful execution of the program scope under the D&S program. Maintain and develop high quality relationships with management, the leadership team and staff of Honeywell, our customer and key Australian stakeholders, other suppliers, and sub-contractors to ensure quality and timely delivery of programs outcomes. Act as key liaison between Honeywell and key stakeholders on all significant operational and program execution matters. Support the implementation of a product lifecycle management system through transitioning program deliverables into the system and assisting with process development around this system. Drive the delivery of relevant allocated program deliverables including all responsibility for the Honeywell scope. Develop product roadmaps, support the overall project marketing approach for the customer through integration of market and customer intelligence into planned program deliverables and marketing campaigns.Education and Experience:
Proven experience (15+ years) in Project/Program Management. Tertiary qualification in Business Administration, Project Management, Engineering or a related discipline. Have excellent written English communication skills using engineering terminology. Substantial experience in managing complex projects and project resources including subcontractors and multiple service providers using PM methodologies in a variety of environments, along with demonstrated experience in the development and delivery of systems/products, where these may be complex in nature. Must have prior defence program experience. Must currently hold at least NV1 Australian Security Clearance (NV2 clearance is preferred)Preferred:
· Experience in military or submarine system design (prior Navy experience is preferred);
· Experience working on ASDEFCON programs.
· Experience in interpreting complex project performance specifications; and
· Ability to travel domestically and internationally if required
