Job Summary:
The mission of SUNY Upstate Medical University is to improve the health of the communities we serve through education, biomedical research, and health care. This goes beyond our downtown campus with all our clinics and offices that provide patient care throughout the greater Syracuse area. As we continue to grow, we are happy to share that we are now working directly with the Syracuse City School District to support the mental health needs of the student population. We are in search of a Program Director/ Psychologist to help in leading this program as well as providing care to students. In this new role you will be asked to do the following:
+ Implementing and overseeing the clinical coordination and treatment management of students
+ Provide program direction and direct patient care to children, adolescents, and families
+ Supervise and develop the clinical staff embedded in schools throughout the District
+ Develop, coordinate, and recruit for school-based predoctoral and post-doctoral programs
+ Act as part of a multidisciplinary team that includes clinical social workers, nurse practitioners, psychologists, and trainees
Minimum Qualifications:
To be successful in this role the Director/ Psychologist is required to have the following:
+ Ph.D. or Psy.D. and NYS license (or eligible) Psychologist
+ If currently unlicensed, a limited permit is required
+ License must be received within 1 year of employment
Preferred Qualifications:
In addition to the requirements there are preferred qualities that will be helpful toward success:
+ 5 or more years of school based mental health with no less than 4 years doing comprehensive psychological assessment
+ Extensive experience conducting comprehensive psychological assessment with BIPOC children and adolescence
+ Extensive experience in conducting neurodevelopmental assessment
+ Demonstrated experience consulting with school about students who are presenting with severe mental concerns
+ Demonstrated experience in working with BIPOC through training, research and clinical work
+ Demonstrated experience in working from a trauma-informed treatment modality.
