Program Cost Analyst (Mid-Level)

ERM is seeking a Program Cost Analyst to support multi-disciplinary client accounts in California. The Cost Analyst will support program management teams with businesses estimates and forecasting as to the cost and resources needed to complete specific work activities. The Cost Analyst will analyze changes to the resource loading, work throughput, subcontractor costs, to evaluate changes in the program on profitability and overall forecasting. Identify opportunities for improving the efficiency of a work stream, or activity with the aim of maintaining or improving the profit margin. Recommend management in terms of financial issues and factors that affect cost and profit for professional services delivered to our customers.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Evaluate and perform tests on programs and work streams using company data to offer answer questions around profitability, cost management, and effectiveness of current operations.

Recommend as needed changes in operating procedures to increase efficiencies to improve profit, invoice reconciliation, invoice payment, and subcontractor procurement.

Research competitor costs if available and show awareness trends related to commercial offers in the market.

Evaluate existing work streams for potential growth opportunities in net revenue and profitability.

Evaluate existing work streams for financial and delivery risks.

Produce report, data visualization for management on cost saving and profit improving strategies.

Support yearly forecasting, budgets, and modeling of new workstreams for profitability and risk.

Assist with daily operations to deliver a program scope, schedule, and budget that meets client expectations and ERM business objectives, including safe operations, client satisfaction, quality delivery, and program profitability.

Support program management staff, including teams leading program controls and finance, resourcing and planning, and coordination support.

Assist the project teams and leadership with the delivery of multiple project workstreams within the programs.

Assist with the development and execution of effective plans of action to run the existing program, including innovative processes to improve program functions and productivity.

Communicate proactively with the project team and senior leadership.

Analyzes program and project financial and operational metrics. Collaborate with senior management to resolve inefficiencies in schedule and profitability as they arise.

Build strong collaborative relationships with other ERM employees.

Develop an understanding of ERM’s practice areas.

Support the growth and development of ERMs Managed Services and other innovative commercial offerings.

REQUIREMENTS:

Bachelor’s degree in accounting or any other relevant field.

Intermediate experience with Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Access, Power BI, to analyze and report out financial information.

Ability to clearly relay information in both written and verbal forms to the project and management teams.

Ability to learn and navigate ERM’s internal financial systems to extract cost, level of effort, rates, and other data to analyze and improve work streams.

3+ years of relevant experience in project control, project management, document review, and project coordination.

Ability to provide outstanding customer service.

Ability to support cross-functional teams including project managers, functional managers, and technical disciplines.

Ability to work with all levels of management and employees to promote a culture of safety and collaboration.

Ability to flex to accommodate ever-changing and multiple priorities, manage a fast-paced consulting environment, and strict deadlines.

Ability to work independently with minimal supervision as well as in a collaborative team environment across different business functions.

Excellent communication, interpersonal and analytical skills in a dynamic work environment. offer and receive constructive feedback and direction to support targeted goals.

PREFERRED BUT NOT REQUIRED:

Proficient experience with Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Access, Power BI, to analyze and report out financial information.

For the Program Cost Analyst position, we anticipate the annual base pay of $67,846 - $74,917 USD.  An employee’s pay position within this range will be based on several factors including, but not limited to, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, geographic location, performance, shift, travel requirements, sales or revenue-based metrics, and business or organizational needs.  We also may have instances where compensation may be outside of the range, based on the factors noted above.  This job is also eligible for an annual discretionary based performance bonus.
